Every once in awhile, we are fortunate to have our lives touched by something remarkable. A twist of fate led me to author R.E. Bradshaw and I am a better person because of it. She has made her mark in the literary world and is a Lambda Literary Award finalist for her book, Rainey Nights: A Rainey Bell Thriller. Her newest book, Molly: House on Fire just went live on Amazon. I was blessed to be asked by R.E. Bradshaw to consult with her about a character in the book named Joey who has Asperger's

If there were any literary justice at all this book would be at the very top of every best seller list, hands down!! As a parent of a very high functioning autistic child now grown to adulthood, I was both moved and amazed at the honesty, accuracy and compassionate portrayal of the character Joey in this book. In fact, I honestly believe it should be given a special award by the Autism Foundation. If anyone wanting to understand more about the autistic spectrum read this book they would gain more understanding than almost anything they might find in the typical library section they are often sent to in such a search. The fact that the book is also a spellbinding mystery and a tender love story speaks to the incredible talent of this author. Ms. Bradshaw has created for us an entire world of people who are so real as to be sorely missed when the final page is turned. Thankfully, they have also been imbued with immortality as they will live forever in the hearts and minds of the readers. The best way I know to fully express here just how good this book is would be to reveal that I purchased it as an electronic book and will now purchase a print copy as well because there is no way I can NOT have this in my library....both my libraries actually since I now also have an electronic one. With the economy the way it is, I hope this is taken as just what it is: the highest praise possible from a reader to an author. The fact that I am also an author only makes me appreciate this woman's talent even more. Now, I am off to find another R E Bradshaw book because, yes, I am hooked.

Molly: House on Fire is the story of Molly Kincaid. Years before she left a town that never treated her or her mother very well and now she’s come home, reluctantly. Molly has a new name and is a successful lawyer, but she can’t overcome the hurt of the past. When her mother was murdered, only one police officer cared enough to pay any attention and now he has died. Molly has returned to repay a debt by defending his grandson against a charge of murdering his own mother and walks into a mystery that ties the two events together. Molly also meets her match in Leslie Walker, the specialist who works with her client. Together they discover that the town has changed in many ways, but not some of the most important ones. This was an enjoyable story, slightly predictable, but with characters that hold the reader’s attention. It will keep you reading; however, there are some problems. There are a lot of mistakes in the beginning of the book. That includes misspellings, words missing and words used incorrectly. For example, at one point a character walks down the “isle” of a store. Silly errors like that should have been picked up by the editor. In fact, an editor should have done a lot of work on this book. There were many extraneous scenes that drag the story out and do nothing to move the plot forward. They could have been easily eliminated. The paperback copy was sloppily produced with uneven margins and too much white space. All they do is make the book longer. If the reader ignores the physical problems with the book, there is an enjoyable story there. With a little more care to its production, it could have been outstanding.

Absolutely loved the depth of character and the story line of this book. The romance is exciting, unpredictable and believable, and I found myself really cheering for the would-be couple. Another great book by R.E. Bradshaw - we're so lucky to have her telling our stories!
