Overview

Molly Bloom reveals how she built one of the most exclusive, high-stakes underground poker games in the world—an insider’s story of excess and danger, glamour and greed.

In the late 2000s, Molly Bloom, a twentysomething petite brunette from Loveland Colorado, ran the highest stakes, most exclusive poker game Hollywood had ever seen—she was its mistress, its lion tamer, its agent, and its oxygen. Everyone wanted in, few were invited to play.

Hundreds of millions of dollars were won and lost at her table. Molly’s game became the game for those in the know—celebrities, business moguls, and millionaires. Molly staged her games in palatial suites with beautiful views and exquisite amenities. She flew privately, dined at exclusive restaurants, hobnobbed with the heads of Hollywood studios, was courted by handsome leading men, and was privy to the world’s most delicious gossip, until it all came crashing down around her.

Molly’s Game is a behind the scenes look at Molly’s game, the life she created, the life she lost, and what she learned in the process.

This is a fascinating book, very well written and enjoyable to read. It shows a facet of life that few of us are likely to know or even imagine. I would recommend it to anyone who would like to learn more about high-stakes power, Hollywood, and the people driven by that world.

This was a great story. The Poker Princess totally has won me over. Her life makes for a very entertaining read. Between the action of the game and the celebrity names involved, Molly’s Game is one hell of a ride. Molly starts off with a life of privilege. Her father pushes her and her siblings, so no wonder she ends up on the on the US Ski team and take a medal, even after back surgery. That isn’t even the main issue in this story, it just shows her drive and determination not to fail. Once Molly hits LA for a year off of college she lands a job working for a hot headed hustler who gives her an education that takes her to the top of her game. Running games for him, she learns how to network and make the right contacts to eventually take over the game. What follows is a woman in her element and makes for one hell of an entertaining read. Right from the start I was turning pages. This was a quick read but definitely worth it. I am sure there was a lot left out of this story. There was quite a bit of insider information and loads of celebrities in these games. To think Spider-Man Tobey Maguire was such a jerk. Now the truth is out. Ben Afflack seemed like a pretty cool guy, but her old boss Reardon has some issues. Of course, we are only getting her side of the story, and the fact that she didn’t disclose in her book exactly what made her a felon was suspicious. Especially since she tried to follow the law throughout most of the story. It was a good read anyways.

I liked this book alot...well written and fun to read. Not sure she revels everything because she was still awaiting trial at the time of printing. Great window into the world of nose bleed stakes in an underground setting. Celebrity players, high finance palyers, huge real estate magnets..she names names. Very entertaining.
