Editorial Reviews

Children's Literature
This book features the letter M. Monkey is having a very bad Monday. He wakes up late and rushes to get ready for school. He can't find matching socks, he spills his milk and falls down and looses his marbles. All is well when Mom gets up and informs him that it's only Sunday and he isn't late for school. She makes him muffins and a mug of cocoa. Uninspired drawings add little to this beginning reader. Monkey enjoys his muffins while we are challenged to find all of the objects in the picture that begin with the letter M. A part of the "AlphaTales" series. 2001, Scholastic, $2.25. Ages 5 to 8.
