Overview

This fully illustrated and colorful children's book will help your child learn the value of money by following the two main characters, Jacob and Emily. From doing chores around the house, to saving birthday money, there are many ways for a child to earn money. Children will be reminded though that they will not get paid for everything they do, as they do have a role in the family household and responsibilities for which they should not get paid.
Once they earned money, children will learn about the concept of the three jars and how to Save their money, Give their money and Spend their money responsibly. An educational and fun tool to provide basic financial concepts at an early age. This book would be a great fit for kids from age 5 to 9.
A great tool for teachers (great feedback from those who used it), financial advisors and parents!

Editorial Reviews

Amazon - Barbara Allisen
Emily & Jacob spend, save, give & earn money. They divide their money into 3 jars: spending, saving, and giving. Karima LaJoie uses the 2 children in this story to explain how the 3 jars are different and the advantages of saving. She also gives examples of ways to earn money. Both Emily & Jacob are allowed to spend money, but only from the spending jar. They are each saving for something special, and the text in the book shows how small amounts can add up. Fun illustrations and a bit of humor.
