Editorial Reviews

Children's Literature
Money becomes an object of fascination at a very early age, even before kids understand how it works. This is especially true when we get to see the colorful currency and coins from other countries. People all over the world use money. The coins look similar in that they are all perfectly round or close to it. The designs are unique to each country and for each coin. In the United States people buy things with dollars. A dollar is worth 100 pennies. In Mexico, people buy things with pesos. One dollar equals about nine pesos. Each spread includes a photograph of the currency of that country, a person from that country buying or selling something, a map and a pronunciation guide. Cameroon, England, Turkey and Japan are among the countries whose currency is featured. This small-format, sturdy book has a small number of pages, but each spread is quite informative. 2003, Compass Point Books,
