    Money well spent

Deborah Price identifies eight different `money personality¿ types which help provide an understanding of why people have so many issues to do with money. As she says: `when it comes to money, most people lead imagined as opposed to real lives¿ ¿ and don¿t the financial institutions that lend the money, and the advertising agencies that create the ads know that? She makes the point that `wealth does not suddenly make personal or psychological problems disappear. To the contrary, it often magnifies them¿. [p11] This book provides a lot of insight into many of the attitudes and beliefs we have absorbed from our upbringing and environment. It is these unconscious thoughts and beliefs (that we have never critiqued) that undermine our financial health and enjoyment of life. It is true that you can¿t change what you are not aware of - so you may just want to read this book. I thought buying this book was money well spent.
