Mongrels
When a young doctor is found with another man, he is sent to the dreaded ‘Institution’, a place from which no man has ever returned. Mongrels they are called, the men who are sent to the Institution, and gripped with fear as he passes through the gates, the doctor silently curses the woman who caught him with another man.

Dr. Mongrelston’s staff was the best but regardless of his in-depth screening, every now and then the outside world tried to outsmart him and send someone in to expose the inner workings of Mongrels. Tad could be that guy. Mongrelston had an uneasy feeling about the new hire, though so far he had not given him any reason for doubt.

Dr. Mongrelston awoke early the next morning and left his mansion on the hill for his office in the valley. He pulled out the file on Tad Henderson and read it from beginning to end, but other than his sketchy employment record, there was nothing unusual about the guy. He had certainly left an exemplary impression his first day on the job.

As he drank his coffee, Dr. Mongrelston could hear the familiar sounds from the suite one floor above him. Chet was the man’s name, and if anyone was having a good time at Mongrels, it was Chet. A high tech voyeur, Dr. Mongrelston clicked on the screen to room 101 and treated himself to a ‘good morning.’ He monitored everything that went on at Mongrels, actions, reactions, and responses to stimulating circumstances. Monitoring was a much nicer word than voyeurism.
