Insightful and entertaining debut novel by Ben Burgess, Jr. offers readers a hell of a ride! Written from the point of view of Kenny, a twenty something guy that is put through the wringer growing up in a dysfunctional family. As an adult his heart and ego are ripped to pieces when his girlfriend, the one he thought was the one, emasculates him and dumps him for a bad boy. This story has an amazing ARC that will take the reader from Kenny's rock bottom to a good place, only to be broken again... then he becomes the Monster, a predator that uses and abuses women to no consolable end. You will connect with Kenny in many ways that will help you accept who he is until he crosses that line, and oh boy does he cross it!
The only reason why I didn't give this book five stars is because of prose. It isn't the most eloquently written book, but the style is perfect for the content. And so, I think that it is a great read and strongly recommend it. This will make for excellent BOOK CLUB discussions. A Must READ!

This book is a must read! Once I started reading, I just couldn't put it down. I needed to know what happened in the next chapter every time I finished a chapter. I read it with a coworker of mine and every night we would end up discussing what we read and how either we've come across a similar situation or we know someone who did. Its a great story with the main character going through ups and downs in his life and it really gives you some insight and understanding on how someone can turn into a "monster". I recommend this book to both males and females as both would enjoy the overall story, the sex scenes, and the relatable situations and characters. Start reading it today!

So many things happened in this book. I was sad at some points, mad, and happy. My emotions were all over the place and those are the kind of stories I like to read. This is the story of Kenneth Ferguson, a young man beat down since his youth because of what other people thought of him and what he saw growing up. Kenneth becomes an adult and goes on a quest, literally, only to finally discover all he really needed was to look inside and find the love for himself.
“Monster” follows this young man's life from childhood all the way to adulthood. Along the way women used him so he decided he would turn around and do the same thing, kind of like trying to get revenge for all the wrongs that were done to him. He lost friends along the way, women were hurt along the way and he ultimately was hurt as well.
I really enjoyed this novel despite the fact that some words were used in the wrong tense like has instead of had and hasn't instead of hadn't. There were also a few misspelled words. Overall, the storyline was great I could follow every part of the book and read it in a couple of hours.
I would love to see other novels by this author as I think he really did a great job. Just a few editing corrections were needed but I really got it! Loved it, recommend it, Ithink you will enjoy it. The cover was great for the book! Keep up the great work, Ben Burgess Jr.!
