Monster Blues

Editorial Reviews

All Music Guide - Heather Phares
Monster Blues features cuts from some of modern acoustic and electric blues' leading lights, including Junior Wells, Charlie Musselwhite, Duke Robillard, and Robben Ford. Ranging from Etta James' smoky "I'll Take Care of You" to the Boneshakers' raucous "Ball and Chain" to B.B. King's smooth "Mean Ole' World," the album is a good introduction to the diversity within modern-day blues; other standouts include Joe Louis Walker's "Change My Ways" and Wells' version of Tracy Chapman's "Give Me One Reason."
