Editorial Reviews

Children's Literature - Kathie M. Josephs
a pleasant surprise when, upon first opening this book there are two pages with pictures explaining just who the Monster Crooks are, and includes their names and nicknames. It starts off with Vlad going to Transylmania Recreation Center to find his friends and share with them what he had in his gym bag...tons of money! He explains how he bumped into someone and both dropped their bags. He picked up the wrong one and now the group has to decide what to do next. Inside the bag was an address and they decide to return it. No one was at the house, but they got their friend Talbot to help who can follow a scent to locate anyone. When they finally locate the correct place, they go in and find stolen paintings from the museum and figure that the money was to pay the person for stealing. The story is well-written and will hold the interest of the reader. At the end of the book, the author includes information on art heists in the world, a page of discussion questions and writing prompts, and finally a page with information on the author and the Arcana Studio. Both boys and girls will find it appealing and is a stand-alone story. Reviewer: Kathie M. Josephs
