Overview

Monster Hunter International might be the premier monster eradication company in the business, but they’ve got competition.

When hunters from around the world gather in Las Vegas for a conference, a creature left over from a World War Two weapons experiment wakes up and goes on a rampage across the desert. A not-so-friendly wager between the rival companies turns into a race to see who can bag the mysterious creature first.

Only there is far more to this particular case than meets the eye, and as Hunters fall prey to their worst nightmares, Owen Zastava Pitt and the staff of Monster Hunter International have to stop an ancient god from turning Sin City into a literal hell on earth.

Editorial Reviews

Library Journal
Teams of monster hunters gather in Las Vegas for their first-ever professional conference. When an experimental creature, dormant since World War II, awakens and runs amok through the nearby desert, Owen Pitt and his crew from Monster Hunter International join in the race to subdue or destroy it. As group rivalries threaten to turn deadly, a different monster emerges, killing its prey with their own nightmares. The monster hunters find themselves in a battle for their lives. VERDICT The fourth title (and first hardback) in Correia's popular series (Monster Hunter International; Monster Hunter Vendetta; Monster Hunter Alpha) features fast-paced battle scenes, tongue-in-cheek humor, funny, likeable characters, and an appropriate amount of gore. Readers of urban fantasy and military sf, as well as series fans, will enjoy this adventure.

Larry Correia fans: get out the crowbar and pry open your wallets.

Another great one in the Owen Zastava Pitt saga. Las Vegas, a talking dragon, a Hind-piloting Orc, and all the weaponry you would expect from Mr. Correia.

Larry Correia continues the over the top action-packed monster hunter series in the 4th book in the series. If you haven't read the first three I would definitely recommend those as well.
Between the very detailed weaponry descriptions (I'll admit I don't have much knowledge of the guns that are mentioned, but author is descriptive enough to where I can image one in front of me) and the witty one liner, yea, I have laughed out loud, author crafts a nicely paced, entertaining ride through supernatural bounty hunting.
Mr. Correia has taken the time to research a wide variety of cultural and folklore monsters, from chupacabras to Cthulhu to fish people of the deep. Anything is free game to hunt. Read these books, you will not be disappointed.
