Editorial Reviews

School Library Journal
PreS-Gr 2-Teachers and parents looking for a beginning book on manners will want this one. The rhyming text doesn't always follow a strict meter, but it rollicks along as three huggable monsters in outlandish clothes exhibit sometimes bad, sometimes good behavior. "Little monsters" will pick this title up for its lively, brilliantly colored illustrations. Presented within boxes, they often break these boundaries in their exuberance. Dialogue balloons printed at the bottom of each page complement the text. Youngsters will enjoy reading this selection on their own, but the rhythms and brightness make it a sure bet for group sharing.-Darcy Schild, Schwegler Elementary School, Lawrence, KS

    Lovable, Sometimes Naughty, Monsters

These adorable, silly monsters are both naughty and sweet, like my two-year-old. She loves reading about their antics and I love that they also demonstrate how to "cooperate and share". My daughter now talks about cooperating and sharing and shouts, "I'm cooperating, I'm cooperating!" to indicate she's done misbehaving.
