Monyum Bay - Time Travel
Tyler and Theodore, two brothers whose parents are famous scientists working at Monyum Industries, are adventurers who are always into some mischief. One day, they discover a strange machine in their basement and begin to explore it. What could it be? The boys notice that there is a place on the machine to change the date. Curious, they set a date on the time machine, push the Start Time Travel button, and find themselves transported to a time long, long ago on an island in Monyum Bay. On the island, they discover a large population of friendly natives who welcome the boys warmly. Tyler and Theodore enjoy meeting new people and engaging in an adventure, but after several weeks on the island, they realize they miss their parents. When the boys use the machine to return home, they find their parents waiting with smiles and a warm meal. Tired and hungry, Tyler and Theodore appreciate the comforts of home and the nurturing environment. After they rest up though, they continue to be curious about the fascinating place they had visited. They go back to the time machine and use it to attempt to return to that time on Monyum Bay. However, they get a surprise when they arrive. The authors plant a seed of suspense about whether the boys will ever get back to the idyllic island in the future. The story is skillfully crafted by authors Warren Dycus and Monica Woolfe. The bold, brightly-colored and hand-painted illustrations by Pam Clement are stunning and help to emphasize the bond these boys have with their parents. The story subtly encourages exploration while reminding children of the solid base their parents provide to them. The book imaginatively incorporates a hint of science fiction into the lives of these ordinary California boys. A great bedtime story, it sets the scene for a book series with more time travel adventures for Tyler and Theodore.

About the Author

Warren Dycus and Monica Woolfe are siblings who collaborated on writing Monyum Bay-Time Travel. Their childhood in a military family helped to spur their interest in travel, and it was a short leap to incorporate time travel into their fiction for children. Pam Clement is a talented illustrator with a whimsical style complementary to the adventure story line. The authors plan to write a series of books with many more time travel adventures for their characters, Tyler and Theodore.
