This guidebook is up to the always high standard of others in the Moon series. They have chosen Andrew Hempstead as an author. He lives in the Canadian Rockies and obviously knows his stuff. His recommendations for accommodations and restaurants are all sensible and well described. In places like Banff there are so many places to eat it was helpful to be able to choose from the selection the author feels best showcase the mountain atmosphere but are also good value. It is the type of guidance I found completely lacking in other books. There's detail of the best hikes throughout the Canadian Rockies, along with information on other things to do like playing golf, fishing, and rafting. Two other things I liked about this book: Firstly, it is very well organized. Secondly, the writing is very enthusiastic, with even the background information and general travel tips making for enjoyable reading.
