Overview

Jamie Baker, the only girl in the world with superpowers, has now accepted who she is and learned to control her power. Not to mention she has the best boyfriend on the planet. Life is finally looking good. But the day she witnesses an accident and decides not to save the guy out of fear of being exposed, she realizes that simply being Jamie Baker isn't enough.
After seeing Jamie so wrecked with guilt, the ever-helpful Ryan Miller decides it's time to make all of his fantasies about turning his girlfriend into an honest-to-goodness superhero become a reality.

Of course, coming up with a decent Super Name and fending off all of Ryan's attempts to get her into spandex aren't the only problems Jamie faces. The more her alter ego starts to make headlines, the harder it becomes for Jamie to hide her extracurricular activities from her best friend, the government, radical scientists, and the mysterious new guy who is determined to steal her from her boyfriend.

Meet the Author

Kelly Oram wrote her first novel at age fifteen–a fan fiction about her favorite music group, The Backstreet Boys, for which family and friends still tease her. She's obsessed with reading, talks way too much, and loves to eat frosting by the spoonful. She lives outside of Phoenix, Arizona with her husband and four children.

OMG! What a nail biter this book turned out to be! Just when I thought the story was winding down toward a happy ending, the author pushed the reset button. What does that mean? That means it's a whole new ball game and you don't get no happy ending today, Chica. It also means that after reading "Being Jamie Baker" and "More than Jamie Baker", I think Kelly Oram had better hurry up and write "The Rest of Jamie Baker".

What a great scene to introduce us to the characters! I liked the pacing, quips, and plot. The ending in the guy's POV was nice for key scenes.

The Bake-ster does it again! This is the second installment of the Jamie Baker series and it is just as good as the first. Jamie starts college in this book, along with Becky, Ryan, and a mysterious new friend that has a whopping crush on Jamie. In fact, it seems like every member of the male species (besides Carter) that she runs into has a thing for her. As she starts exploring her superhero abilities, she discovers more about herself, and also makes herself more vulnerable.

This book is slightly more action packed and a little less humorous than the first. There are still lots of sweet/corny Ryan and Jamie moments that made me utterly happy. I love their banter. I was also surprised with the way Mike played into this story and how his character developed. After the first book, I felt like his character and the issues surrounding him had been left completely unresolved, but this book took care of my concerns about him.

I didn't find the ending to be as shocking as everyone else seemed to. I could see most of it coming right from the first page. It only made sense. And knowing beforehand that there was a cliffhanger ending made it less frustrating. The epilogue did make me extremely anxious for book three, though. I almost wish I would have waited to read this series until the last book was out so I could save myself the torture of waiting.

Content: A bit of suggestive talk and some superhero action, but clean overall.

The Cover: Electric! Sorry, bad joke. I love this cover. It is bright and fun and really gives the feel of the book.

Ahhhhhhhhhhhhh!!! Okay, now that I've gotten that out of my system I can move on. I LOVED More Than Jamie Baker, but the ending was probably one of the most brutal cliffhangers that I've ever read...and Remember Jamie Baker seriously cannot come out fast enough! :P

Now, onto a more coherent review. :P I absolutely LOVED the first book in this trilogy, Being Jamie Baker, so when I got the chance to read More Than Jamie Baker, I jumped at the chance...and I don't regret it one bit! :D

At times, I will admit, I was totally frustrated with this book. I love Jamie, I so do...but sometimes that girl just puts her trust in ALL the wrong people. At the same time, I always understand why she does it. Jamie may be too trusting at times, or a bit naive, but she's incredibly easy to understand and empathize with. She's one of my favourite heroines, and I absolutely adored every single Ryan and Jamie moment that there was...they're definitely one of my favourite YA couples. I just love how much they care for each other, and the passion...WOWZA! You know you've got steamy chemistry when your kisses blow up lightbulbs! ;D haha They also have awesome banter...seriously, they are never boring, and I love it! :D

Along with the awesome Ryan and Jamie bits, I just loved seeing Jamie grow. She's become so much more mature and confident in herself since we first met her in Being Jamie Baker. I'm always extremely happy to see her put herself out there and just take chances that she wouldn't have before. I also totally love when she tries to figure out more about her powers and see what else she is capable of...it's just so fascinating and all-around awesome!!! I love that it mixes my ginormous love for superheroes into a super-awesome book series with one wonderful main character...and Ryan, he's totally a super-boyfriend, too. ;)

I'm not going to go into too much detail about plot or anything with this one because I think it's more fun to figure out for yourself while reading, but you'll definitely face a few twists as you read...and you may or may not be surprised by everything that goes on, it kinda depends how good you are at figuring it all out. ;) But, there are definitely twists, so expect that! haha

Overall, I loved More Than Jamie Baker!! Yes, the cliffhanger was super brutal, but rest assured, there is another book (don't worry guys, Kelly wouldn't leave us hanging like that!!!), and I have tonnes of faith that everything will turn out for the best! I'd recommend this trilogy to fans of superheroes, or just fans of awesome heroines who can take care of themselves! Although, Jamie's boyfriend is pretty fantastic. haha ;)

    Wow!

I loved Kelly Oram's Being Jamie Baker. More Than Jamie Baker, though, was entirely different. The ending of this book left me with my jaw on the floor. What a cliffhanger. Now I need to read the next book so I know what happens. Hurry up Kelly! Don't keep me waiting!

    What an ending!!

(received by author in exchange for an honest review)

I have been waiting for this book it seems forever! Now, I honestly didn’t know where this book would go, so I didn't really have expectations
as to what will happen. Let’s just say, what did happen, I wasn’t really expecting. And I sure wasn't expecting that ending!

I loved the first book, Being Jamie Baker, it was a fun, light, adorable, kick-ass super hero kind of read. I consumed it in one sitting. I
can say that More Than Jamie Baker was just as fun, light and adorable as the first, however, a bit more serious than its counterpart.
Nonetheless still such a fun read and a wonderful addition to the series!

I love Jamie Baker! She is, literally, a kick-ass chick with some amazing superhero powers. She is still that cocky girl from the first book,
but I could definitely see the growth in her since then. Jamie is still struggling with her powers, and what to do with them when something
happens that makes her realize she really does have the potential to do great things. My heart definitely went out to her in this book.
Jamie gets tested probably more so than in this book than the first book. But this girl is strong, and I love that about her!

Now, if you have read the first book, you know a boy by the name of Ryan Miller. Oh cocky, full of himself Ryan Miller. I love me some
Ryan Miller. Oh yes! He is a great male character and such a wonderful boyfriend to Jamie. He really is there for her throughout the book,
helping her when she really goes through some emotions about how to handle her powers. Like the first book, Ryan is Jamie’s strength
and he does a great job at being plain awesome.

I do adore those two characters to pieces, and it was nice seeing how much they have grown since the first book. They definitely both get
tested in this one! But their strength really comes through vividly.

Some old faces return and some new faces appear. Each one definitely added a new dimension to the book, and some even brought
some nice tension to the story. One character really changes a lot of things for Jamie.

The story was nicely built and paced. Though I was able to predict a few outcomes, there was one thing I really didn’t see coming. And it
blew me out of the water! Though I was able to predict a few things, I couldn’t put this book down. I found it to be a great addition to the
    series.

Oh, and that ending! Be calm my breaking heart! That ending changes so much! I can’t believe that happened, and just, wow, my heart!!
I need the next book now!

More than Jamie Baker was a great second book in the series. I love the world that Kelly has created! It was nice being back in that world
and I loved seeing Jamie and Ryan once more! I definitely recommend this series if you love a light, fun, and adorable read that deals
with superheroes, secret organizations, a swoony guy, and a girl that knows how to kick some butt!
