Overview

When a lonely teacher teams up with a handsome bartender for some outrageous acts, they both get more than they bargained for. . .

Learning her ex-husband is going to be a father, Quinn Adams is determined to have a baby of her own--without the partnership of a man. But her sister and friends believe she needs to focus on herself first, and step out of her comfort zone by completing a list of adventures. Challenge number one is to go on five dates within two weeks. After a few disastrous attempts, Quinn's ready to give up--until sexy bartender Ryan O'Leary offers his assistance.

Ryan has always been the dependable one in his family, often at his expense. But lately, he's been longing for a life--and a woman--of his own. The woman he has in mind is Quinn. Though it seems all she wants is friendship, Ryan can't ignore the explosive chemistry he feels between them. In the hopes of becoming closer, Ryan offers to help out with Quinn's list. But when she asks him for a serious favor, he's afraid it will jeopardize his chance to become more than friends.

## Frustrating. That's how I would describe this book. "Let's be just friends", "let's be lovers", "No, wait, let's just be friends", "Let's have a baby", "Let's be lovers", "No, I should meet other men". For Pete's sake, make up your mind! This yo-yo routine created by the heroine just kept dragging on and on. I wanted to smack her. She was awful. She wasn't nice or kind and her jelousy of her sister made her downright ugly. This amazing man who she's attracted to, wants a relationship with her but she does everything to push him away. She's in my TSTL catagory (too stupid to live). I realize stories have to have conflict, but 100 pages less of "no", "yes", "no", would have been nice. Besides that, the ending wasn't well written and the sex was mediocre at best.

It's not hard. You're either all in or all out. This chic? Every two pages it seemed like she was changing her mind. And the guy? Putting up with it? Uh no. Not my cup of tea. But two stars for effort.

A great start to a series. 4.25 stars - I really enjoyed this book! This is one 'friends-to-lovers' story that I will keep on my re-read shelf. Quinn and Ryan have known each other since Quinn started going to Ryan's bar with her co-workers. Quinn's experience with bartenders is not great, so she keeps Ryan at arms-length even when she finds him attractive. They have enjoyed a sort of friendship over time, but it isn't until Quinn needs help with her list that they develop a true friendship. Ryan wants more with Quinn but he goes along with her friendship plan in the hopes that Quinn has a change of heart. I liked Quinn a lot. She was funny, quirky and smart. She had a plan and she was determined to fulfill it. Of course, Ryan was not part of her overall plan even though she considered the possibility a time or two. Ryan also had a plan. A natural caregiver, he was determined to help Quinn finish her list while winning her heart in the process. I loved Ryan! He was charming, funny and very sexy - I could picture his grin and know that it would make me melt. Filled with humor, sexy banter and emotion, the writing was very good. I enjoyed how the characters interacted with each other and the way they were brought together. The chemistry between Quinn and Ryan was very palpable and their connection felt real. I truly connected with them and was cheering them on throughout the story. The author, Shannyn Schroeder, did a great job of developing the characters and of including a very fascinating set of events that kept me interested in the story from beginning to end. I also found the secondary characters interesting, especially Griffin and Indi. This is the first book I read from this author, but it certainly won't be the last. I enjoyed this book thoroughly and can't wait for Griffin's story.

Take 1 lonely, divorcee, school teacher and add 1 very sexy, over worked, bar owner and you’ve got an amazing story about finding love where you least expect it.  Quinn Adams life needs some changes, taking advice from her sister and best friends, Quinn makes a list of outrageous acts to get her out of her funk. Posing nude, 5 dates in two weeks, riding a motorcycle, adventures Quinn would never attempt without this push. Now with the list in hand there are some disastrous attempts by Quinn to fulfill these actions on her own and she almost gives up...until Ryan (bar owner) steps in. Ryan is attracted to this quiet, shy, teacher that graces one of his bars every week with her co-workers. When he over hears her making a list he wants to fulfill all those items himself. Deciding not to scare Quinn off with his personal desire, he tells Quinn he will help her with her list. Thinking it will help him get closer to Quinn and show her there might be more between them. More Than This was a slow developing romance/friendship that was a pleasure to watch. Both characters had well established back stories and outside relationships. This story crept up on you leisurely, but then you realize you are completely invested in the outcome and must read on. More Than This is a nice story with heart warming friendship and smoldering desire hiding just under the surface . 4 stars This ARC copy of More Than This was given to me by Netgalley and Kensington Books in exchange for an honest review. Publish Date January 3, 2013.

yes indeedy, life and love are so much more than this....what a great story....i love a man who knows what he wants, and goes after it....in this book, ryan knows what he wants, but takes a roundabout way of getting it..and it could very well backfire on him...but his persistance in being quinn's friend and helping her live a more adventurous life endeared him to her family and friends...only quinn resisted ryan's appeal for as long as she could...

I enjoyed the story line and how the book flowed, but there were many many loose ends. That was kind of annoying, as was Quinn's whinning. Lol.. she would get mad about the dumbest things!. But overall a very decent read :-)

I truly enjoyed reading this book. I also wanted to slap Quin about a thousand times. Man, some pages are going to drive you out of your mind. Ryan on the other hand is so lovable... I loved his charactor. Loved loved loved him. This man is so right for Quin. But why is she such a PIA! This book will be hard to put down. It draws you in and youll need to find out what will happen...... Loved it

Great read. I read it in two days, ignoring everything that needed done in my house. I read the second book just as quick. And I've already pre-ordered the third. Don't miss this series!

A great read. I just wish that the ending was a little longer. After all of the ups and downs, I kind of wanted Quinn and Ryan to say I love you more then once.

I really enjoyed the story and the middle trials and tribulations the main character dealt with throughout her journey of finding out what she really wanted. All of the characters were extremely relatable and it was fun to see what each was kind of going through as the main character unfolded her story. I would definitely recommend this--I even sent it to my mom right after I was done reading it!
