Roberta Simpson BrownAfter reviewing Ghosts, Spirits, and Angels, readers were left wishing for more stories in these categories. Thomas Freese has responded with this second book, More True Tales of Ghosts, Spirits and Angels, which not only has stories about ghosts, spirits and angels, but new categories about fairies, nature spirits and animal spirits.
There are several things I especially enjoy about this book. I like the introduction of the fairies and the spirits of animals and nature. I have always believed in fairies, but the only stories I could find about them were fiction. In this book, there are accounts of actual sightings by reputable observers. After reading about the fairies, I will always remember to thank them for rocks that I pick up in the forest for my collection.
Jeff Stevenson gives a nail-biting description of his personal experience on the Pope Lick Monster Railroad Trestle. Anyone driving through that area will confirm how spooky it is and will probably agree that Jeff must have had a true guardian angel with him the night he confronted the train coming onto the trestle.
Jackie Atchison tells of the believable encounters with the ghosts of Blackacre. It is interesting how they accept her presence there and how they reject the intrusion of professional ghost hunters. She shares some ways she communicates with the ghosts and how they respond.
Thomas Freese has a wealth of knowledge about the paranormal and has an intriguing, entertaining way of writing these stories. This is definitely a book you will want to have close at hand to read for shivery delights any time in any season of the year.
