Overview

"Through the eyes of a young man embarking on a mission to Hong Kong, Jack Worthy draws the reader into the world of Mormon indoctrination, where the faithful are not expected to merely profess belief or faith; they are expected to profess knowledge.' Very interesting and informative

I grew up a Mormon and this book gives a very accurate description of what growing up Mormon is like. It was well written, entertaining, and is informative for anyone who wants to know more about the Mormon church. Its interesting that all the one star reviews either had no comment, or had comments that gave no indication they had actually read the book. Hmmm... that seems to indicate that the author is onto something. Highly recommended.

    If you are Christian:

    Read-
    Bible Dictionary: Stick of Ephraim,
    John 10:6
    Isaiah 29:4, 11-18
    Ezekiel 37:15-17
    John 20:31
    Acts 10:43
nd if you own a copy of the Book of Mormon read-
    1 Nephi 13:20-29, 40 & 41
    2 Nephi 2:3-14
    3 Nephi 23:1
    Mormon 7:8 & 9
    2 Nephi 29:8
By the way this book is a load of crap. It is impossible for a returned, full-time missionary, who knew anything about the LDS church to turn his back on the gospel.

    REALLY??

This author must have thought writing a controversial book about Mormonism would guarantee big sales. As a female who was raised Mormon and was ex-communicated I can tell you this guy is full of crap. My experience with not only Mormonism but also with life in general is there are many ways to view any situation, and some people go for the most sensationalised account they can think of. Many people can be present at a event and afterward give greatly differing accounts of the situation. This is the reason law enforcement places less weight to eye witness accounts than they do with hard evidence. Come on people - do you really think that a bitter ex member of any organization is going to write anything unbiased? Where would be the drama in that? Like I said at the beginning, this author was hoping for some big paychecks. Even though the book was full of errors, I gave him two stars for the creative way he presented his view.
