Thousands of students have used MOSBY'S COMPREHENSIVE REVIEW OF NURSING as a review tool and a study guide for the NCLEX-RN(r) examination in the United States and the comprehensive licensure examination in Canada. Why? They're assured of the most real-world test-taking experience and evaluation of their overall performance, which translates into higher scores on test day. The most popular review book for more than 40 years, the 16th edition has been completely revised and updated - it includes more than 3,000 test questions! Its unique coding of questions helps students evaluate performance according to the most recent NCLEX test plan. A free CD-ROM with 1,000 additional questions will provide students with practice on the computer. This is a "must-have" for top students who are serious about passing this test.
* Content review outlines of medical-surgical, pediatric, maternity/women's health, and mental health nursing incorporate the five-step nursing process to logically organize nursing care and reflect the focus of the NCLEX-RN exam.
• Two comprehensive exams of 265 questions provide test-taking experience, help students evaluate overall performance, and give students more confidence on exam day.
• Each clinical chapter includes numerous review questions to help students evaluate learning. Answers and rationales follow each chapter to eliminate flipping back and forth.
• Separate rationales for each option for all questions explain why correct answers are right and other answers are wrong.
• Each comprehensive exam includes a "focus for study" worksheet to help student identify weaknesses and plan study time.

I carried this book with me everywhere, studying it whenever I could. My main suggestion is that beginning med-surg nursing students use this book as a study guide not only for the nclex but also to help them prepare for med surg tests and as study material during preparation. In the real world as a nurse, you don't have time to look up something in a text. The knowledge has to be in your brain. This review helps it to to get there. Was this review helpful? This book has its advantages and disadvantages. The review sections of the book are very straight forward and offer a great deal of information that will help jog your memory as you prepare for NCLEX. The practice questions though leave much to be desired. Most are alright, although I can't say I saw many questions on the actual NCLEX exam that were in this book. My biggest complaint about this book is that some of the answers the author lists as correct, are clearly not correct. I don't know if the authors were asleep while they were writing some of the answer explainations, or if the editors messed up. I highly recommend that you have a firm grasp on the subject matter before purchasing this book, and have the faith to disagree on several of the practice questions. The CD is very nice and gives you great feedback as to where you need to focus your studies. Was this review helpful? Yes NoThank you for your feedback.
