Purpose: This is an affordable, compact, thorough, and outstanding quick reference that provides students and practitioners with a succinct and portable abridgement of Mosby's Dictionary of Medicine, Nursing and Health Professions, 7th edition (Elsevier, 2006), and is an eminently useful and user-friendly resource.
Audience: The dictionary is intended for both students and healthcare practitioners in all disciplines. The authors and their consultants are clearly experts in their fields.
Features: The book includes medical terminology, definitions, and pronunciations. This edition is updated with approximately 3,500 new entries to reflect new developments in the many facets of health care. In addition, 9,000 definitions have been revised to reflect current knowledge/practice and selected British spellings have also been added.
Assessment: Portability, easy-to-read text, and updated terminology make this pocket dictionary a valuable reference for both students and practitioners in the healthcare arena.
