I am taking my PTCE tomorrow, but I'm finding myself quite overwhelmed. I really loved how the book was divided up like the exam... into 3 sections with each section spending an appropriate amount of time on each section. I chose this book because it seemed to not include any extra information, but at times I felt like it did.
I wish the math section had been more clearly expressed. Also, I wish there had been a blanket "formula chart." -though I haven't seen a single book with that at all. I wish there had been more examples of each math problem.
Also, taking their practice exams it would mark my answer incorrectly even though I selected the correct answer. And I found typos throughout. The explanations while more thorough than other books, did not always clearly explain the solution I felt. For someone who is okay at math (not great by any means) I was disappointed. I can usually figure things out if they are broken down a little more. The math is a huge portion of the exam, and I felt like although it's fairly simple math they could have tried harder to break it down.
Had I realized this earlier, I definitely would have chosen another book.
I would recommend that along with this book, you get a specific pharmacy technician math book. I wish I had... I feel like I would feel more confident if I had.
The book I'm recommending I would still also recommend a separate pharmacy math book, but even if not, this has some easy to understand examples. I wish I had purchased that book.

This book has numerous comprehensive tests through out it. Also, very helpful when studying the math portion of the PTCB exam (dimensional analysis/conversions). It's not very cohesive, and doesn't have a good organizational pattern. That can be a good thing though, as the questions on the exam are not in any particular order.

My Wife is using this book to get certified but from what she tells me it has a lot of info. Maybe a little bit too much info. The only thing it really is lacking is that there are no answers to the practice questions in the back of each chapter. Although I was able to find the answer to all the odd questions online.
