Overview

Having won the battle for teen pop supremacy against her party girl rival, Lindsay Lohan -- whose debut album, Speak, was a flop -- multimedia darling Hilary Duff is in the mood to celebrate with this greatest-hits-so-far package. It may seem a bit presumptuous of the 17-year-old to release Most Wanted -- given that she's only recorded two albums -- but the flaxen-haired cutie's fans will be pleased that the hits compiled, such as "Fly," have been remastered. For added value, the disc also features three remixes: a danceable "Come Clean," an extra-rockin' "Rock This World," and a bubbly "Why Not." Other highlights include the Metamorphosis chart-topper "So Yesterday" and Duff's cover of the Go-Gos' "Our Lips Are Sealed," with sister Haylie, originally from the soundtrack to A Cinderella Story. There's plenty to want here.

Editorial Reviews

All Music Guide - Stephen Thomas Erlewine
Arriving about a month before Hilary Duff turned 18 and presumably right around the time her record contract was coming to an end, 2005's Most Wanted is a tossed-off hodgepodge of seven previously released songs (including the hits "So Yesterday" and "Fly"), three new remixes (including one of the hit "Come Clean"), and three new songs. Nothing screams contractual obligation quite like this kind of grab bag, and hardcore fans will be hard-pressed for a reason to add this to their collection, since they not only have nearly everything here, the new songs -- the single "Wake Up," which sounds like a sweet-natured, slightly listless spin on Gwen Stefani's "Cool"; the persistent electro-pulse of "Beat of My Heart"; the lightweight Ashlee Simpson-styled rocker "Break My Heart" -- sound a bit like leftovers. While this isn't a terrible album by any means, it's not particularly a good one, since Duff's two pop albums have distinctive personalities that don't necessarily mesh together (2003's Metamorphosis is unabashed teen pop, 2004's Hilary Duff is a post-Ashlee/Avril rock makeover), and are both more fun than this. If all you're looking for is the two hits on one disc (and you don't really mind that one is remixed, not in the version that you heard on the radio), Most Wanted suits the bill.

Hilary duff is a great singer with great songs on this album! :-) You will enjoy this cd, the songs on here make you want to dance to the music. I like the songs wake up, the getaway, beat of my heart, come clean, so yesterday, rock this world, girl can rock, and why not.

This CD rocks! It's like Hilary's Greatest hits CD. I especially love " Wake up" because it is really fun and upbeat. This CD also includes: The Getaway, Come clean, Mr. James dean, So yesterday,Metamorphosis, Rock this world, Fly, Girl can rock, Our lips are sealed, and Why not. Including two other new songs: Beat of my heart and break my heart. It's probably going to be her best CD yet.

This cd only contains 3-4 hits on it and it claims to be a greatest hits cd? It's only for the diehard Duff fans.

This is a perfect album for Hilary Duff fans. Most Wanted is a compilation of the most wanted Hilary Duff tracks, not necessarily hits. The album includes previous hits, new remixes of previous hits, some of the best previously released songs that were not made into singles, and three new songs. The album also has a hidden bonus track. The album has new remixes for Why Not, Rock This World, and Come Clean. It has the previous hits So Yesterday and Fly. It has three new songs. These songs include the new single Wake Up, the upbeat song called Beat Of My Heart, and the enjoyable track called Break My Heart. The previously released songs on the album that were not turned into singles are Metamorphosis, Mr. James Dean, The Getaway, Girl Can Rock, and the duet Our Lips Are Sealed, wich is a cover song Hilary sings with her sister Haylie. As I mentioned there is also a hidden bonus track on the album as well. Every song is brilliant, and it is the perfect album for Hilary Duff fans.

i don't really like hillary duff and there a lot of remixes on this song. why doesn't she make new songs. then also 'our lips are sealed' is on this c.d. and that song doesn't belong on a new c.d.

A pretty good collection. About the size of the CD Metamorphosis, This one contains less fewer new songs, but includes several Remixes. It mostly contains her top songs from all three CDs. Not a definate need for a neveryday fan, but has some really great songs in it all the same

I love the song "Beat of my Heart" It is so upbeat, and really makes you feel good! It has a very nice sound to it, and has a hip dance vibe. Even though this Cd only has a few new hits, it is totally worth it! This Cd is for anyone who wants to have a good time!

I love hilary, this cd is amazing. I think it for the people who are in their pre teens to teens that enjoy guitars, a good beat, and/or just like hilary duff.

This is one of her best albums yet. The price is worth it.

I think that this cd is awesome! All the songs from her last 2 ablums that I loved were on this one and the remixes really added that extra touch to already great songs! People need to stop ragging on Hilary Duff, she's got talent and her music is just fun!!

I enjoyed some of the songs but really, I think she should come up with some new songs! Personaly, I think Hilary herself has turned into a "bad girl" and some of her music has too. There are a few good songs on there like "Come Clean" and "Wake Up" that I really like, but Hilary herself is starting to bug me. I also think she should write more songs herself! I would have a lot more respect for her if she did that. I would recommend not buying the whole CD, but maybe a couple of the songs from iTunes?

It can't get any worse than this. I got this for my sis, a die hard fan of Hilary's and she hated it. The song Wake Up is "way lame" it has just about the same background music as a Good Charlotte song. LOL this girl is so not Hardcore!

The songs are upbeat, but I wish there would be more new ones. Get her Most Wanted special edition CD with bonus tracks. Hilary also says this isn't a Greatest Hits album, just more like some of her favorite songs remixed, according to a live interview on TRL on MTV. I used to love Hilary, and then I kinda hated her, but now, I'm starting to like her again. I love the song "Wake Up"!

Okay, a person cannot have a greatest hits album after only 2 CDS!!! You need to have at least 3 or 4 or it's weird. Second of all, Hilary Duff can't sing well. Her voice strains way too much. And I do not understand why people like the single "Wake Up" and its video both are terrible. I say down with this CD!!!!!

my favorite, you'll probably like it too

The lack of creativity is quite evident. Mainly old songs redone. Nothing noteworthy at all. By the way, the one critic who mentioned another artist and said their cd was a flop when reviewing this cd clearly let their personal feelings into the review. Selling over 1.5 million copies is clearly not considered a flop. First week alone over 400,000 were sold. It was in bad taste to mention another artist in someone else's review.

This CD was the best. I loved it.

Okay, idon't know what Hilary was thinking when she released a greatest album after only two years of singing and only two albums out. that's ridiculous. i have to admit, i am a Hilary Duff fan, but this is disappointing.

This CD is really cool. It is her faves and our faves. The only song on it that I don't like is Mr. James Dean (they are screaming, not singing!!!). The reason this is 4 stars and not 5 is because HAYLIE Duff is also in it. Hilary, stay solo- your sis stinx... but as for the pure Hilary songs-- ROCK ON!!!
