Overview

The Internet...a world without rules, without boundaries. Where you can be anyone you want, whoever you aren't. And it's all just a click away...

Andy MacFarland thought he knew everything. But his mom just showed him how stupid he really is. Strike that. Not stupid, just ignorant of the facts, and deliberately kept that way. At the age of 16, Andy has found out that he's adopted. His life is not his life.

There's only one way to reclaim what he's lost: Andy's got to find his natural parents. The place to start: the Net. But the Net should come with a warning: Be careful what you wish for. It might come true.

Different people in different places. The one thing they have in common is a new address on the Internet: danger.com. Where all your fears come true.

//prologueTo: whoever@cyberspace.com From: rcktman (Andy MacFarland)

Subject: blizzard Sometimes, you cant figure out when something started to happen. Things change, but you can't really say how. Like you and your girlfriend break up, but you don't remember when you started to be bored with her obsession with Brad Pitt. Or you get a D in geometry, and you can't remember when, exactly, you started tuning out the teacher and drawing rocket launchers in your notebook instead.

But me, I can point to the exact day when things changed. I can point to the exact minute. I can remember what I was wearing, and what my mom was wearing, and the way her mouth moved, and the way the breeze came through the window and blew all her papers off her desk.

I remember watching the papers drift across the floor Like snow. Neither one of us made a move to pick them up.

The funny thing is, I live in California. I never bad seen snow. But suddenly, I remembered being cold. Falling in a snowdrift. I remembered hands lifting me out, and someone laughing. It was a deep laugh, and it made me happy. The memory was blurry, as though I were seeing the image through the whiteout of a snowstorm.

And while I was thinking all this, at the same time, my world was blowing apart in a completely mellow way. Just a soft voice talking.

And everything changed.

It was like after a blizzard, when you can't recognize your house, or your yard. You know they're still there, underneath the mounds of white. But nothing looks the same. And if you walk outside, you'll sink down, and maybe the snow will swallow you...so you reach out and hold a hand, tightly. A big, stronghand.

Except I've never been in a blizzard, so how would I know all this?

Look. Here's what I'm saying. If nothing makes sense anymore, you really need something -- someone -- to believe in. And you'll bang on tight to that person, that idea, just to make everything okay again.

Wouldn't you?

I never saw that ending coming! Well, either of the two endings...anyway, this is probably my favorite of the three danger.com books I've read so far. I'm trying to get another few, but they're not stocked in our bookstores...

The novel Danger.Com was a very interesting book and a page turner. In the book Danger.Com a young boy named Andy, wants to find his birth father, who murdered his birth mother. Andy finds his father and begins to conversate over the Internet. Later on, his father drops by to visit, and ends up staying in they're garage. a couple of weeks later, a woman named 'Dolores' was found dead, and Andy's father is convicted of murdering 'Dolores.' But did he do it? I enjoyed this book because it was mysterious and you just couldn't wait to get to the next chapter to discover what's going to happen next.
