Barnes & Noble - Ganda Suthivarakom
For those who can't get enough of Moulin Rouge, this 11-track disc features more choice performances by the film's stars, as well as a few ambient instrumentals. On the Las Vegas-worthy "Sparkling Diamonds," Nicole Kidman growls and purrs through a brilliantly paired medley of Marilyn Monroe's "Diamonds Are a Girl's Best Friend" and Madonna's "Material Girl." Kidman's string-laden duet with costar Ewan McGregor, the ballad "Come What May," swoons and soars with equal measures of camp and tragedy. Kidman's string-laden duet with costar Ewan McGregor, the ballad "Come What May," swoons and soars with equal measures of camp and tragedy. This second Moulin installment also includes the hilarious third-person rendition of the Madonna classic "Like a Virgin" and the sentimental cover of Queen's already emotional classic, "The Show Must Go On." Amiel's funny and seductive "Meet Me in the Red Room" is a bumping-and-grinding highlight. All of the tracks here are original film versions, except for the excellent Tony Phillips remix of "One Day I'll Fly Away," which interweaves Kidman's ethereal vocals with a Sneaker Pimps urban lullaby groove. Moulin Rouge 2 may be more for avid fans of Baz Luhrmann's frenetic film, but every track on this follow-up oozes with the over-the-top production and emotion that won over audiences in the first place.
All Music Guide - Stephen Thomas Erlewine
Moulin Rouge, Baz Luhrmann's 2001 musical, certainly has its share of admirers -- it even got nominated for Best Picture -- and some of those even praised the musical collage that represented most of the soundtrack. That patchwork is what the entire enterprise was built on. That was the music and aesthetic that pulsed through the first soundtrack for the movie, not the other, more typical movie music that was featured in the film. That's because that first soundtrack was intended to sell the film as a phenomenon -- something it did quite well with a trashy, all-star cover of "Lady Marmalade." So, this second one is for songs like "The Pitch Spectacular Spectacular," "Come What May," and "Like a Virgin," plus some instrumentals -- music that played a big part within the film. Though this still has some of those covers that misunderstood both rock and movie musicals -- such as Jim Broadbent's swaggering "Like a Virgin" -- on the whole, this is a better soundtrack because it delivers music that was actually in the movie.

    I Also Recommend:

    Brilliant

I have to say that I enjoyed this immensely. My only problem is that they did not include Come What May(Reprise).

    Brilliant

Incredible movie and soundtrack. All songs are wonderful (maybe one or two exceptions). Nicole and Ewan's voices are exceptional especially because no one knew they could sing so well! Only complaint I have is that even after 2 soundtracks they still didn't include the finale when Satine and Christian sing the reprise of Come What May. Its the best part in the movie!

    Moulin Rouge 2

I know some people out there have found moulin rouge an extremely stupid movie, but I loved it, and this cd only helped to make the movie better. I really believe in TRUTH, BEAUTY, FREEDOM, and most of all LOVE. Best song on the cd is "The Show Must Go On". Nicole Kidman's singing is very impressive.

NUMBER 2 DOESNT MATCH TO NUMBER 1

If you want a great soundtrack to "Moulin Rouge" then make sure to buy the first "Moulin Rouge" cd first and then the second one. The second is awesome but probably the worst soong on there is the remix of "Someday I'll Fly Away". The best song on there is "Come What May!" So if you are fan of this movie then buy this cd to complete your collection!
