Editorial Reviews

Children's Literature - Children's Literature
As Miss Bumbly heads upstairs for bed, a mischievous blue mouse peaks out of his mousehole. His evening is just beginning. Using the TV remote, he watches some women exercising, a cat and mouse movie, and a cooking show. Inspired by "Cooking with Clara," he goes to the kitchen to prepare a hearty breakfast. Mixing pancakes and squeezing orange juice create quite a mess. Upon hearing the alarm ring in the distance, the mouse quickly cleans up and disappears just as Miss Bumbly enters the kitchen to discover a wonderful breakfast laid out on the table for her. Flowers stuck in a colander provide a beautiful centerpiece. This almost wordless book features large figures in brightly colored pictures. Young children will enjoy telling the story to appreciative adults. 2000, Orchard Books, Ages 2 to 5, $14.95. Reviewer: Phyllis Kennemer
