I have used this book for reading aloud to both groups of preschoolers and snuggle reading to one or two little ones. In both cases the children were fascinated by the story line and the way the pictures relate to it. With the individual child it can easily become a "read it again" book. It is fun to discuss the actions happening in the pictures and reinforce the idea of how colors combine. My 2 year old grandson would get up during the reading and dance with the mice as they mixed the different colors. He calls it the "Mouse Dance" book!

My children have enjoyed this book for years! The 'board book' style makes it easy for small hands to explore and take everywhere, and even with three kids, it has held up extremely well. The illustrations are very nice and crisp, and the text is educational and funny. I intend to give this book as a baby shower gift since my family has enjoyed it so much. We give it our HIGHEST recommendation!

Here is the good and bad about this book. The good: It's a nice book that teaches young children about how when certain are mixed together, it forms a different color all together. The story line is very basic and not really interesting, but the book makes learning color mixing easier based on how the story is laid out. I would recommend this to young school age children learning about mixing colors but not for children younger than that but that's just personal opinion. Now here is the bad. I bought this as a bargain book. bargain books are suppose to be new books that sometimes have a slight remainder mark or stickers showing a discounted price. What I received in the mail was a book that was filthy dirty, pages that turned yellow and a remainder mark created with a thick black marker that is about 5 inches long. This book should of been put in the trash, not sent to a customer. I also had another bargain book in my shipment that was also in bad condtion and I am waiting for the balance of my shipment to come in to see the condition of those bargain books before I return them. I am never ordering bargain books again, it's not worth it the price no matter how low it is!

My daughter likes this book for is larger size and its easy for her to thumb through.. great with learning the colors too.

Colors are taught to kids using mixing by three curious mice. Good for artists-to-be.
