Editorial Reviews

DisneyDispatch.com - Bob McLain
Angela Lovell is not just someone who slapped together a few Disney stories. She has published other (non-Disney) books, and her work has appeared in such venerable venues as High Times, Opium Magazine, and MTV. She's an award-winning playwright, director, film critic, and sex columnist, among other things, and her eponymous website is a blast to visit. She writes humor that is equal parts absurd and scathingly funny.

That's your warning.
SamLand's Disney Adventures - Sam Land
Her first ambition was to become a character. She fell short of that goal and ended up as an Attractions Host at Splash Mountain. The blow by blow of the process makes the booklet worth the price alone. To say that the booklet is a quick read is an understatement. This is a really, really short book. But for $3 it is about as unvarnished look at the life of a Cast Member then anything in print this side of Cast Member Confidential.

    Get Moused!

This short story by Angela Lovell made my day. It is horrifically delicious. Not only is the author hilarious, she possesses a genuine story telling skill-set long lost in today's faced paced world of e-reading. This tale is well crafted and full of heart and wit. Please read, purchase and tell your friends. I can't wait to read more by this author!

    Funny, but very short read...

This was a funny and entertaining read, but at only 18 pages is a bit overpriced at $2.99.

    Fear and Loathing in You-Know-Where

Really enjoyed this piece--Lovell exaggerates her bitterness in such a way that it feels deeply personal... and that allows her to examine the underlying unpleasantness that [the unnamed monolithic corporation, you know the one I'm talking about...] tries so hard to scrub clean. The sentence that ties it all together:

"The last time I'd been stuck working parade control (in a uniform that eerily resembled the one I'd worn for Girl Scouts) Bill called me over to watch a hillbilly pull meat from his six dollar emu leg and toss it to a five foot alligator lying in wait below."

Pretty much a perfect storm in terms of all the frustration and disappointment collected up in the span of one summer. Really lovely stuff.

I have been a fan of the Mouse for years now and have read tons

I have been a fan of the Mouse for years now and have read tons of books on WDW and the company and this is by far the most intriguing and interesting book i have ever read about it. The stories in it are unbelievable and so fun to read. The book makes you think twice about disney and what they are truly betraying. This is a great read for anyone looking to have a good laugh and entertaining read.

"Ang" offers a funny often scattered account of working a summer at Disney World. Though it was amusing and reminiscent of David Sadaris' Elf Chronicles, the whole book is 18 pages long. Should be called a brief essay and free.

    Get caught in this mousetrap!

I loved this and want more... either a full-length hilarious expose-type memoir or a feature film starring, oh, I don't know... Reese Witherspoon? Renee Zellweger? Cameron Diaz? So much hilarity in one little story!

    A Quick But Hilarious Read!

I'm obsessed with Mousetales and loved this because it was still in that field but very funny. Really great story telling. I wish it was longer, but I guess at 99 cents you can't be too picky. I almost can't believe that last story is true!!! Or any of them for that matter, lol!

    Ridiculously Short

Okay writing, a very few fun stories, but 18 pages total? You've got to be kidding me. Kind of a ripoff.

    Totally worth it.

Absolutely hilarious. I had no idea such a short book could make me laugh so hard so frequently. I only wish more of her work was published on the Nook.

    Really funny!

It's a really short read but I figured as much at 99 cents. REALLY FUNNY THOUGH! WOW! I felt like I was reading transcript for This American Life or something. Great writing style and I'd definitely read more from this author. Loved it!
