If you use your NOOK for movies and TV shows, the build-in Media app is somewhat limited in the way it presents your video collection.

MovieGallery enables you to use your own images (such as cover images) to represent your movies, making it easier and a lot nicer for you or your kids to browse your movies.

Aside from the ability to display cover images for your movies, MovieGallery lets you display the movie names, and it extends the build-in video player with a variety of additional features.

Notes:

* MovieGallery does not include movies or images. It will only display the (mp4, m4v,3gp) videos you already have on your NOOK (or on a memorycard)

* MovieGallery extends the functionality of the build-in video player app on your NOOK. It does not provide support for video files that the NOOK can not play, such as AVI, MKV or so-called Digital Copy movies.

* If you do not have video files stored on your NOOK, MovieGallery will display a few movie trailers. These trailers stream from the web and do not take up space on your NOOK. These trailers will disapear if you store supported videos on your NOOK.

FEATURES:

* MovieGallery finds all the videos you have on your NOOK (it looks all over, including a memory card if you use one), and displays them in a visual way.

If you have cover images of the same name stored on your NOOK, it will use those to display your movies.

* 4 different view-modes to showcase your collection. Use the slick-looking 3D mode, easy flat-mode, or the large-font List-modes to quickly flip through your video collection.

* Powerful build-in video player with unique functionality such as tap-to-pause, adjustable forward/backward jumps and a zoom function to make your videos full screen. It even remembers where you are left of for each of your movies, making it a breeze to continue where you left off, even if you watched something else in between.

* Brightness/Volume controls during video playback.

New in MovieGallery 2:

* Background images, which can be different per video folder,
* Build-in Cover-image search, 1 tap on the button will bring up cover images to choose from the web for your movie.
* Child-lock options, limit functionality, password protect etc.
* Major performance enhancements, enabling higher-resolution thumbnails and images.

* Works with NOOK color, NOOK tablet, NOOK HD and NOOK HD+

    Great App

    This app works exactly as advertised. YOU supply your own movies in the video folder and this app will display all the videos for you within the app. This saves time going to the my folders method to find the video you want.

    Excellent Addition to a Nook Color

    I was so tired of the "tap, tap,tap" navigation to get to my video clips on the Nook that I almost quit putting them on it. With the addition of this App it is actually cool to show clips to family members and friends. The selection screen can be customized with your own JPEG files so as you swipe the virtual cover art display your pictures help identify the clip. If only this same developer would produce a photo gallery App!

    New! There is a high probability that ImageGallery for Nook will be released by the same developer within the next week or two. If it is half as good as Movie Gallery we will have a great picture viewer for the Nook.

    Been waiting for this sort if app since i bought my nook!

    Ive been playing movies on my nook since day one but wanted a way to browse and play movies without having to go through all the directory structures to get to them, and now this app give me exactly what i want plus album art to help browse my movie library. Hooray!

    Excellent Addition

    I have had great success with Handbrake, converting movies and loading them on my NOOKcolor. This app makes viewing them, and keeping my place so much easier. However, I cannot figure out how to get it to display the movie covers/artwork. Any help?

    ITS GREAT I LUV IT!!!!!!!!

    I got this app not sure causebof the reviews but it worked for me. For the people complaining about the backfround being blue and the screen being to small you can change it with one click of a button. To change the blue background to black push the arrow in the upper right hand corner and u will see at the bottom of the screen it says settings tap that. Then onbthe sttingsnpage do wjat ever u want to it xhange backround change screen size play all the movies/videos at random or back to back. Once u get the hang of it u wil luv it

    Waste of money

    It is coming off as if you can get movies from it but all it is is someting that you can watch movies you can watch on your nook without it!!!!!!!!! Don't by this!!!

    WONDERFUL APP!

    Before I purchased MOvieGallery it took way too many steps for this fumble-fingered person. And I could never get back to the spot where I sropped if I needed to pause it and do something else for awhile. This has solved those problems, and I'm really enjoying watching movies. Thanks DVD Catalyst!

    Another wonderful app

    I have this app on my tablet and am glad to see Mitch got the approval from BN for their app store so I can now use it on my nook as well! If anyone has any issues with the app contact the developer - he is great at helping andis always open to suggestions/requests. Thanks again Mitch!

    Features for nookcolor now working 1.2.5

    Barnes and Noble posted the update and the settings features work...yea! Even better than before...thanks to the developer for doing a great following through in less than a week since release! I am lovin' it more now than I can personalize it!

    Highly Recommended - you must check it out!!

    I CONVERTED MY MOVIES TO A mp4 VIDEO FILE, AND FOUND ALL THE ARTWORK ON LINE, I HAVE A 8 GB MEMORY CARD, HAVE 6 FULL MOVIES ON IT, AND HAVE ROOM FOR MORE, YOU NEED A VIDEO CONVERTER, I USE DVD FAB.

    Nicely done, easy to use!

    I use this app when I travel. The artwork sliding movie interface is slick! I even use it to display 3D CAD animations to demo designs while I travel. This program makes it MUCH easier to find these files quickly!

    Great app

    Nice app. Like it's ability to remember where stopped in a video and the ability to zoom to fill screen. Good interface for selecting video. Can't find any settings for browsing folders

    Really cool app

    I've only loaded one home movie on my NookColor to use this with so far but I was impressed. I still need to try it out with some of the DVDs I have as well as using the cover art feature.

    Works great!

    I have used the software in my computer for a long time and it works great. I can watch my movies on my Nook just the same. If you know what you're doing you will have no problems. But if you do, the people usually respond fast.

    NICE!

    After following the advice of a reviewer, I bought DVD Catalyst to convert my movies to view with this app. SO GLAD I DID!!! Super easy to convert & transfer movies from my pc to the Nook! Now I can keep my 2 year old happy & therefore we are all happy!
