Being born an "Army Brat", Erika Ashby has been residing in Oklahoma the last 10 years finally putting an end to the nomad tendencies she had grown accustomed to. She's a happily married woman who has 5 kids between her and her husband. She has an insane passion for music and embraces her Inner Groupie any chance she has. It wasn't until the age of 29 that she realized she also had a hidden passion for reading; before then she claimed to have hated it. And the rest is still history in the making.

To move forward you must deal with the past. To move forward you must deal with the past. Gripping and romantic story about loss, self fulfillment, new beginnings and second chances. Be prepared for big surprise at the end that will leave you speechless and wanting for Erika Taylor to HURRY UP and release book #2. Great book!

    4.5 stars
I wasn't really sure I could get through this book after reading the synopsis, and when I read the prologue, I was moved to tears and once again doubted if I could get through Moving Forward.  But as I kept reading and muddled through the emotions that were making their way to the surface, something happened and I did get through it.  I not only got through it, I loved it!

What Jesika and Derek have together is simply beautiful and Erika Taylor has woven together a lovely tale of finding true love for the first time given a second chance.  Fate is the underlying theme in this love story between Derek and Jesika, who fight against secrets from two pasts that are intertwined.  All things happen for a reason; and with that you have to take the good, lean on each other for the bad, and hope to survive the ugly.  When Jesika and Derek's good was evident, I swooned until I could swoon no more.  When the bad creeped in, I was in heart-pounding angst wondering where the author was going to take me.  But when the ugly stepped forward, I was crying the biggest and ugliest tears I could cry until my tear ducts were raw and screaming no more.

I was in for the ride with no turning back.  I saw it coming, but I denied that it could happen.  My fear gauge had gone so high into the red zone, I was beyond calming down and could only ride it out until the last sentence of the last chapter brought forth the ugly, face-distorting tears again.  Then something happened.  The author gave me a little thing called the epilogue.  That beautiful, beautiful epilogue that gave reprieve to my fears and a happy ending to my sorrows....until the last sentence in the epilogue.  EEEEP!!!  I was shocked by something I never saw coming.   Does this book give me my happy ever after?  Yes, I did get the happy ever after for Jesika and Derek that was so well earned through the angst and heartbreak we (Jesika, Derek, and I) suffered through.  Does this book end on a cliffhanger?  Yes, it ends with such a cliffhanger for Seth and Mallory, but not to worry because the second book in the series, No Going Back, is coming Fall, 2013; and it will address all the questions I have for the characters whom I grew to love in Moving Forward.

    Trash

Would have been a great story it the author gave the characters a little more class. The characters came off the page as white trash, even though I dont think they were meant to be.

There are a lot of grammatical errors and words being used in the wrong spots. That being said the author has a nice way of popping up with surprises, which is great in a plot of course. There seemed to be a few too many sub plots that all have something to do with having babies, aborting babies and miscarriages. It's a little morbid. I gave this three stars because the basic idea of the book is pretty good but the author could definitely use some writing classes. I assume this is self published because it really needs some editing. That being said it's a good plot idea and most of the writing flows. I gave this 3 stars for that reason. It gets confusing when the secrets start to come out because all these people are so intertwined. If you can look past the errors you'll be entertained.

This is a MUST read! We meet Jesika one year after loosing her husband in a car accident. We see her struggling to be strong for her young son & knowing she needs to get on with her life, but not quite sure how. She begins to date a fellow single parent Derek who is a firefighter & a drummer in a popular local band. When secrets from her husband's past come back to haunt her will their relationship be able to last? Especially when it can be linked to them forever? This is an amazing story about love, loss & finding the strength to move forward. I was very pleased with how it ended. Actually for the first time (that I read at least) the author actually left a cliffhanger for the next book in the series BUT it will be based around two different characters.

Moving Forward is a great book. I have been looking forward to reading it for a while now, and it did not disappoint. Jesika and Derek are both people that were damaged by their previous relationships and both came together to help work things out, there is tons of drama in the book and ways to keep you wanting to read it. I was so disappointed that my own life was getting in the way of my reading the book, it took my three days when I wanted it to take me two hours. In the words of the author its pretty Amazeballs. The characters in the book are well developed and are very quirky, who would not want a best friend like Mallory? I cant wait to see what goes on between Mallory and Seth. If you looking for a book that shows grief, and overcoming things and a great man that doesnt have to be what he is then this book is definitely for you. I highly recommend it. It teaches you that even when life knocks you down and throws you a curve ball, you should never stop yourself from "Moving Forward."
