Lynette Eason’s Elite Guardians series just keeps getting better and better with this addition of Moving Target. This one was very creepy and from the first page I was holding my breath. I have been rooting for Maddy since I first met her in the opening pages of Always Watching especially after what happened to her. And then Quinn’s dilemma in Without Warning had me on the edge of my seat, so I was pretty happy these two were getting their own story. What a story it was. It was like Hunger Games mixed with the TV show Castle. Not really sure who the Chosen One was or how he/she/them was able to do all they could really had me even looking over my shoulder. Within these pages of action, romance, and even terror, we have deeper issues like the topic of forgiveness for oneself and family. Maddy and Quinn make a great team and I like that they already had an established relationship even though it was a bit of a murky one. However the care and obvious love they had for each other made the uneasiness of this story much more bearable. I think these covers are the best covers I have seen for a romantic suspense series and I am so glad Ms. Eason is continuing with number four in the series. I hope there is more after that; there are a few more members on the bodyguard team I would like to get to know better. I am highly anticipating Haley’s story next. I received a copy for free. This review does come with a warning, once you pick this book up your not going to be able to put it down, action packed from the beginning to the end. I even thought once we were off the roller coaster, and guess what, not! We are back with the Elite Guardians, and this is the third book in the series, and it is just as good as the other two thrillers, and you are not going to be disappointed. Now you don’t have to have read the first two to enjoy this one, but once you read one of them you are going to be hooked and want more. This one is a personal one, with Maddy McKay, a member of the Elite, and Quinn Holcombe a FBI investigator, and someone wants these two dead, and it has to be in the right order. Wow, we go from one terror scene to another and then quickly to another, this evil person seems to be brilliant and uses his smarts to hurt others, will these two be able to survive all that is about to happen? I for one cannot wait for the next book in this series, and it can’t come soon enough, I loved reading this thrilling page-turner. I received this book through Revel Publishing Blogger Tour, and was not required to give a positive review.

Moving Target was a very chilling and suspenseful tale! The tension began early on in the novel, when Quinn and Maddy found themselves captives, forced to participate in a “survival game” with a madman. This story is book three in the series, yet it can stand alone if you have not read the other books. However, if you have read books one and two, you will know that both Maddy and Quinn recovered from life-threatening wounds in the recent past and that they have feelings for each other. Moving Target had many dangerous situations for these characters to overcome. There was also a good bit of detective work as Quinn and Maddy tried to determine who was behind their abduction. The romantic tension between these two was also quite good. Quinn, especially, had a lot he was struggling with from his past that he needed to deal with before he could look toward the future. Moving Target is a nice addition to the Elite Guardian series and I definitely recommend it for fans of suspense. I received a complimentary copy of this book. All opinions are my own.

Heart-pounding romantic suspense at its best! This is a stand-alone story within a series. A number of the characters from the previous books have support roles in this one though. The two main characters, Maddy and Quinn, are so well developed that I connected with both of them really quickly after starting this book. They each have their own emotional baggage that keeps rearing its ugly head and getting in the way of moving on with their lives. I thoroughly enjoyed seeing how they slowly faced up to it and figured out the steps they needed to take to work through it. This all takes place in the midst of being targeted by a madman who wants to kill both of them. The key though is that he wants to play some games and mess with their heads first. The plot is crafted so ingeniously that it really kept me guessing. In fact when the actual mastermind behind all the games is revealed I found that I had made a number of wrong guesses along the way. I received a free copy of this book from the publisher. I loved this book and would recommend it to anyone who loves a good suspense. From the very first page I was pulled into this thrilling adventure as the characters are literally running for their lives.   Maddy McKay is a strong character, but her one weakness appears to be Quinn Holcombe. She has deep feelings for him despite his grumpy attitude.  Maddy is a former FBI agent, but left years ago under a black cloud that caused a division from her and her family.  She hides her turmoil over this situation, but secretly wants it resolved.  Quinn is a character with a tough exterior, yet has a softer side.  Quinn is on the police force and is stumped with the latest case of 8 missing people that they've been unable to find dead or alive. He's in hopes Maddy will help him investigate. As the plot explodes with twists and turns Maddy and Quinn are faced with pulling out everything life has taught them just to survive.  Maddy and Quinn are complex characters that I couldn't help but love. This is a spine tingling plot that will took me from South Carolina to Key West.  The imagery brings to life both the setting and the characters. The Chosen one is a deep and darkly twisted character that plots a revenge no one sees coming. This is the third book in the Elite Guardians series, but it's a stand alone story. I will add that this is an addicting series.  This story is one that pulled me in immediately and kept me turning the pages until the end.  **I received this book from the author via the publisher.  I was not required to write a positive review.  All thoughts and opinions expressed are my own.

I had the hardest time putting this book down! When my hubby forced me to go to bed, I just laid in bed thinking about what I’d read and what could happen next. Eason kept my interest the entire time, and I couldn’t wait to find out what unexpected twist was going to shock me next. Moving Target is the third book in the Elite Guardians series. This series is based on a talented group of women that protect not only those around them, but also each other. I have read both previous books and loved them. Don’t worry if you haven’t read them yet, as you don’t need to in order to enjoy this story. This book focuses on Maddy McKay and Quinn Holcombe as they try to catch a serial killer. Maddy and Quinn have a history and have spend a lot of time around each other. Life hasn’t been easy on either of them lately, and they are both ready for some happiness. Maddy believes that Quinn is the man for her, but he’s got to realize it for himself. When neither of them shows up for his birthday party, their friends begin to get worried. It isn’t like them to not answer texts or calls, and before long their friends realize they have both vanished. Putting their skills to work they all immediately begin to search for answers. Who could be behind their disappearance? And where are they? When Maddy and Quinn wake up they both realize something has gone terribly wrong. They are trapped in a room, and don’t even know how long they were out of it. One thing they quickly find out is that whoever has them doesn’t intend for them to live much longer. Being the live prey in this hunter’s game is terrifying, and danger seems to be around every corner. Lucky for them, Maddy and Quinn are a great team, and aren’t going to make this easy for the hunter. Can they escape with their lives and figure out who’s after them? Or will the truth come to light when it’s too late? I would recommend this book to anyone who enjoys Romantic Suspense. The characters were a lot of fun to get to know, and I found I could relate to many of their struggles. I have loved every book I have read by Lynette Eason, so I’m not surprised I really enjoyed this one too. I was kept hostage turning pages, and nervous about what was to come next. If you love edge of your seat, nail biting suspense, this book would be great for you. I received a copy of this book in exchange for my honest opinion. All opinions expressed are completely my own.

Moving Target (Elite Guardians #3) by Lynette Eason When Maddy McKay and Quinn Holcombe come up missing, things get interesting. The search for the two missing detectives continues while far away they are in the clutches 0f a madman’s twisted idea of a game. Now, Maddy and Quinn must run for their lives, because if they don’t win this game…They die. In a story like this fast-paced suspense novel, you never know what to expect. You’re constantly shocked and you always think you know the plot, but the twists and turns are too much to keep up with! Coming from a person like me who loves watching shows like Criminal Minds, this book was a pleasant surprise that entertained me. I stopped watching CM years ago though, due to too many dark and inappropriate cases. BUT it was so cool to me to be able to get into the killer’s thought processes and ponder through the story’s clues and hints without being exposed to bad scenes and language. I was also highly pleased with the amount of spiritual content as well! The two main characters and their families experience hard things, they fail a lot, and they don’t trust God enough during the trials. But they all slowly but surely found redemption and I loved reading that. I highly recommend this romantic suspense book to anyone who enjoys a thrilling crime story! Moving Target will not disappoint. ~Halee

** “He drew in a deep breath and thought about approaching the God he’d given up on long ago. There was so much pain and suffering in the world. It wasn’t right. It didn’t seem to him that a just God, a loving God, would even allow it. At least not a God who was actually in control of things.” ** Lynette Eason does it again with the third Elite Guardians novel, “Moving Target.” Wow, just wow! Reminiscent of the classic short story “The Most Dangerous Game,” Eason takes her readers on a heart-thumping, adrenaline-packed story featuring kidnappings, murders, revenge and deadly games. Elite member Maddy McKay gets drawn into a case her is-he-or-isn’t-he-her-boyfriend Detective Quinn Holcombe is investigating — a series of mysterious disappearances — when each receives a note similar to notes received in conjunction with the missing cases. When Maddy and Quinn are drawn into a deadly cat-and-mouse game on an isolated island, they grow even closer together, and closer to God as they work together to determine who could be behind the macabre game and disappearances. And they must figure out if this case has anything to do with their prior lives in law enforcement. “Moving Target” is an amazing suspense novel, filled with just the right amount of romance. Eason does a great job of dropping just enough hints as to “whodunnit,” without giving it away too early in the story. And with the return of the Elite Guardians ladies Olivia, Katie and Haley; Quinn’s partner, Bree; two adorable doggies, Sherlock and Watson; and the perpetrator or perpetrators, Eason does a great job of developing a great and intriguing cast of characters. But beside being a fantastic suspense novel, “Moving Target” is filled with a plethora of gems and life lessons. With trust being a major theme throughout the novel, it shows us that we especially need to trust God, even through the injustices of life. It also teaches us about the need to let go of anger; remembering God is always working, even when it doesn’t seem like it; and tackles the hard topics of family relations, depression and suicide. Eason never disappoints, and once again she hits a home run with “Moving Target.” Anyone who loves a great suspense novel will love this book, as well as those who like a little romance and a little spiritual guidance. I can’t wait to read Haley’s story this summer in “Chasing Secrets.” Five stars out of five. This book is the third in a series, but it could be read as a stand alone. The references to previous events don't require that you've read the first two. However, you might want to after you read this one. They are also very, very good. However, this one is my favorite so far. The opening grabbed me and didn't let go. It was really hard to find a stopping point... because, ya know, work and all. I was also never quite sure who the bad guy was, until almost the end. And even then, there were twists! The development of Quinn's return to faith and the resolution of both Quinn and Maddy's baggage was well written and believable. I received a free copy of the book in return for an honest review. And I honestly loved this book. Keep 'em coming Ms. Easton.

I have loved every book by Lynette I have read. I thought I knew what to expect from her but this book took me by surprise in all good ways. Wow. What a ride this book will take you on. There is never a dull moment. If you are looking for something to keep you up at night and on the edge of your seat look no further. Maddy is a great heroine and Quinn, as stubborn as he is, is a great hero. They make a wonderful team. There is so much unknown in this book, who is behind this scary stuff and how will Maddy and Quinn survive? It almost has a Hunger Games kind of feel to it. I highly recommend this one. A copy of this book was given. All opinions are my own.

This book will make you look over your shoulder... Moving Target Elite Guardians #3 By Lynette Eason Maddy McKay has a problem and it starts with a Q ~ Quinn Holcombe's grumpy in the mud attitude has reached its climax as far as Maddy is concerned. There's just one problem her heart doesn't necessarily agree with her head. But is Quinn ready call it quits on whatever he and Maddy may have and his friends with the Elite Guardians? Before he can decide matters are taken out of his hands when both he and Maddy become a target of a suspected serial killer. Suddenly survival becomes the top priority for both Quinn and Maddy as they try to survive long enough for their friends to discover something's wrong or they can find a way to escape. But their capture is determined to make them fight for their survival and he has the advantage. This is a fast paced fight for survival as Maddy and Quinn work to piece together the clues that they have and find the connections that tie them to the previous victims of the hunt. This is a high stakes who-dun-it with lives on the line. Poor Maddy and Quinn just can't get catch a break ~ Maddy in Always Watching had her near death incident and Quinn had his in Without Warning. (Hint, hint you may want to read the first 2 books before getting swept up in this the third book in the Elite Guardians series) But be warned this book will keep you turning the pages. Will you solve the case before the killer is revealed? It isn't easy... If you love a murder mystery you'll want to add this one to the top of your to read list. I was provided a review copy of this book by the publisher, Revell with no expectation of a positive review. All opinions expressed are my own.

"...because he was the Chosen One . . ." (10) If there ever was a book that makes you nervously look over your shoulder, Lynette Eason's Moving Target is one. This book 3 of the Elite Guardians stirs in your mind as our main characters, Maddy and Quinn were kidnapped and forced through a Hunger Games scenario where they were hunted for death. Creepy? Chilling? Psychotic? O yes. Well, the "psychotic" was the villain, but when you read from the villain's perspective, you get it, and it chills you! (Brrrr....just thinking about it!) Lynette Eason has once again written a suspense that binds you to book until the very end. As Maddy and Quinn are made moving targets for the twisted evil that envelopes them, not only their lives are at stake, so are their hearts. Will they be able to finally put aside what hinders their acceptance of each other in their lives? Or will the target be hit before their hearts come clean? Moving Target has romance, danger and suspense all are woven together with a precise and masterful hand. In come friendships and God's providence that tops it with a story that makes you hunger for more by the author and of the series! Don't miss the rest of the series, which each can be read as a standalone. Disclaimer: I received a copy of this book from the author/publisher. I was not required to write a positive review, and have not been compensated for this. This is my honest opinion.

In Moving Target, Lynette grips the reader from page one and doesn't let go through the whole book. Maddy and Quinn's sorry is a breath-taking page turner. I couldn't put the book down! Lynette is able to go into the mind of not only Maddy and Quinn, but also of a psychopath. The reader really feels like they are inside the pages of the story as if it's playing out right before them. Not just a book, but as if it's real life. Every book that Lynette writes gets better and better. You won't be disappointed, so grab this book...and a blanket and a good cup of tea or coffee...and get ready for a ride that you won't soon forget!

The Elite Guardians series just keeps getting better with each new book. This story is packed with action-filled suspense, a nice clean touch of romance, difficult family relationships, and a challenge to a renewed faith. I thoroughly enjoy all those elements in a story but am especially drawn to stories that have people struggling over their faith and coming to grips with real-life issues. Granted, most of us don’t find ourselves in one life-threatening situation after another, but we still struggle and lose our way at times. Reading about characters who grapple with major issues that have shaken their faith and seeing how they deal with it offers hope. In this story, the hero and heroine have both had some huge crises to face in their lives and now they are brought together in traumatic circumstances that will either kill them or strengthen them. Has their training prepared them for what they will face? How can they find the one who is behind all of the murders and is even now apparently intending to add them to his list of victims? What an exciting read! I received a complimentary copy of this book from the publisher in exchange for my honest review.

"Hypeness" Rating: 5.0! Book received through Revell Books (division of Baker Publishing Group) in exchange for an honest review. * Review Posted on http://thebookuniverse.weebly.com/ Summary: When Maddy McKay and Quinn Holcombe don't show up for Quinn's surprise birthday party, his friends know that something is very wrong. Let me start off my review by saying that this book was amazing! I have read the first two books in the Elite Guardians series in the past. If you find this book interesting, I recommend you first read the first two books first. Some reoccurring characters appear in this book and new characters (Ahem!) for the next book coming out very soon! Out of all the three books she has written so far, I have got to say that this has been the best one. This book is from the point of view of Maddy McKay. Ms.Eason did a really excellent job of spinning the tale of murder mystery that takes place throughout the book. I thought that the plot was set up very well and I could picture all the events taking place in my head. Another thing I liked was that the book wasn't very hard to read at all. It didn't take me a very long time to finish the book as well. I am glad that the author didn't include too many new characters into this story. I know from past experience that it gets a little confusing in remembering which character is which. I also liked how Ms.Eason didn't just talk about the murder mystery throughout the book. Maddy and Quinn both had to deal with personal problems dealing with their past. This made the characters seem more humane and realistic. Of course, who didn't love the romance that was built up between Maddy and Quinn. It nicely flowed throughout the book as well! I don't have any serious complaints besides this book, but if I had any it would be for Ms.Eason to quickly write the next book! I can't wait for what new adventures she has in store for us. Thank you Revell books once again for providing me a copy of this wonderful book! This third book in the Elite Guardians series is the best yet in my opinion. Don't get me wrong. I really liked the others. But, this one really grabs you right from the start. A double kidnapping of the principals; a diabolical mad man bent on revenge hunts them in a "game" of survival; and a romance that neither party wants to admit to the other. There is a lot of action, and good character development. An important take-away is that dependable friends are as valuable as family. A very good read from Lynette Eason.
