Mr. Mushh is an engaging story about a seemingly normal boy who has a secret super power! Kindness! I liked that Mr. Mushh had super powers that everyday children can imagine having. Don't get me wrong I love the idea of being able to fly or have lazer beams shoot from my eyes, but it is unrealistic. Rosemary Miller did an excellent thing with this book, being that it shows children that they can be themselves and actually have a super power.
The book has a wonderful message and is very engaging. I would say that this book is probably best suited for children between the ages of 5-10. I found the illustrations to be a good change of scenery from other children's books that usually have drawings. I also really enjoyed the Q&A at the back of the book, it was a wonderful surprise and such a simple way to get children more involved in this book.
Hopefully there will be other Mr. Mushh books in the future that I can share with my children.

Mr. Mushh and the Shop-Robber is an entertaining story of a young boy who uses his superpowers to help others. Mr. Mushh is visiting his friend Little Missy’s shop, but stumbles upon a Shop Robber stealing from his friend. Suddenly, the boy who seemed so typical, grows giant, brave, and strong. He chases the Shop Robber, and helps the police save the day. Through his adventure, Mr. Mushh shows how to be helpful and brave.
Miller tells this story through wonderfully descriptive words and interesting images. My favorite part of the story was the beginning, with Mr. Mushh walking through New York City. Miller’s descriptions of the setting and people really make the city feel vibrant and interesting, highlighting the diversity and beauty of living in the city. The author writes that each new adventure will take place in a new locale, and I would love to see how she brings each new setting to life. I think that this book teaches strong lessons about community and can give children a good example of city life.

This is clearly a book for children; although I read it myself prior to giving it as a gift, and I enjoyed it.
A child small in stature turns into a super-hero called Mr. Mushh when needed to help people who are
in trouble. The super-hero is not over-the-top; just bigger than "normal" which gives him the ability to take
down the bad guys. If you have a child who is an "underdog" in any way I would highly recommend this book.
However, even if your child is very comfortable in their skin the book is a very cute story about good triumphs
over bad. The colorful almost-real pictures are quite charming too.

I didn't like this book. The writing was generally OK (although I saw several places where there were missing commas), but I didn't like the story or the way it was told.

Good tale for 6-10 year olds. Mr. Mushh is a superhero in disguise. No one recognizes him but when trouble comes he helps fix the problem. There is humor here as well as lessons. I enjoyed the story. I liked how Rosemary Miller taught what 911 operators do and how they help the police and the police help in an emergency. I liked that she showed how people became friends and how friends help one another. The pictures seemed to be a cross between photographs and computer generated but they fit the story. I enjoyed it and cannot wait for the further adventures of Mr. Mushh.

I received this book from the author in exchange for a fair and honest review.
