Editorial Reviews

Amazon - Mary Gramlich
Beau Boone no more than arrives in the town of Nemesis before he is fighting for his life, again. Recovering from the ravages of the Civil War all he was looking for was a warm bed and hopefully a job. Beau did not intend to be a hired gun at a wild saloon but it does pay more than bar keep. ....L.J. Martin writes as if he has lived his life in the West and relates the details in a well-written and entertaining story.

This is a well written and engrossing story. If you like your Westerns rough, tough and gritty, you'll like this one. You'll also like L. J. Martin's The Benicia Belle - Clint Ryan Series
Amazon - I AM Nikki
L.J. Martin pens an engaging action packed adventure in "Mr. Pettigrew" as a new character emerges in this another installment of the Nemisis series. The story starts as Beau Boone, a war survivor, ended in the quaint town of Nemesis and befriended Mr. Pettigrew and Miss Alice, of the Angel Cloud Saloon. Soon after, he finds himself in the middle of a smaller, but equally deadly conflict.

L.J. Martin fashions a solid plot with "Mr. Pettigrew" engaging the reader from page to page.
Amazon - Julia Busch
Another winner! L.J.Martin scores another brilliant read. His characters are solid, in-your-face alive. There are always provocative concepts, philosophies in Martin's books that go way beyond the story line. More than a western, like his other page-turners, his books are about characters, humanity in "how did he come up with that idea" and "can't put the book down" plots. Each Martin book I read, squeezes out another title from my top ten reads.
Amazon - Cheryl Pierson
Mr. Pettigrew by L.J. Martin is one of those books that hooks you from the first page and draws you in closer and tighter, page by page, until the very end. The people are very realistic, as is the dialogue, and the Martin's descriptive prowess had me right in the middle of the story with Beau Boone, the protagonist, and all the secondary characters. Beau is down on his luck, but a truly honorable man--there are certain things he will not do, no matter what.
