This one of my father's favorite books and he read it to us when we were children. When his family's home burned down this was the one thing he took with him and we still have the singed and water damaged copy. I was thrilled to see this book was back in print and will make the most wonderful father's day gift. So thank you barnes and noble to making this father's day a good one.

As a child I enjoyed Mr. Pine's Purple House and wanted to find it for my child. When I finally found it, I read it to my 4 yr. old, and she it is one of favorite books. I am glad to see it back in print.

I grew up hearing this book in school. When I heard it was out of print, I was very sad. Now that it is back in print, I can order it for my son. I loved this book and still do. Thank you for bringing it back!!

I loved this book in grade school. I remember checking it out from the school library over and over. When my oldest two children were pre-school I tried to find it but couldn't. (Early eigthies) I ordered other old favorites from the kids'Weekly Reader, but I never found Mr. Pine. Friends have looked at me funny when I recall Mr. Pine and his desire for uniqueness. I,m so excited I found a book to purchase. On-line finds have really brought 'home' memories.

My mother bought me Mr. Pine's Purple House at a bookfair in elementary school (1972) for 59 cents. My mother saved the book and gave it to my brother, who is ten years younger. He also loved it. Two years ago when I had my first son, my mother gave me all of the books she saved, including Mr. Pine's Purple House. The copy is beat up and the cover has seen better days, but that does not matter to my son. It is his favorite book. I am so glad I can replace our old copy with a new one that he will be able to pass down to his children.

I've been bidding on old copies of this book online and had no idea it was reprinted! We wore out our copy 20 years ago -- I want to buy it for every child I know! I'm so glad the publishers pay attention to what readers want.

My grandmother used to read this book to me and my cousin. It has always been one of our favorite childhood memories. Before my son was born my mother gave me all of the childrens books I had collected. After sifting through the hundreds of books I was heartbroken that Mr. Pines Purple House was not there. I am so happy that my collection is complete once again. I just found out my cousin is expecting her first child and as a gift I have purchased her a copy of the book.

Somehow in the shuffle of moving, when I was 10 years old, my copy of Mr. Pine's Purple House was lost. I remember purchasing it with my mother when I was about 6. Original cost 59 cents. Ever since I too have been looking for a copy of this wonderful book. Four months ago I decided to try another online look for the book and to my surprise found that it was again in print, but not in stock!!! I went to the local Barnes and Nobles and ordered a copy. It took nearly 5 weeks to get it. When I finally received it I didn't even open it until I got home. That night I read it to my 2 year old daughter. Amazing!!! Mr. Pine hadn't changed. I am so glad that I have this treasure to share. Original cost (1971) - 59 cents Today's cost (2000-1) - $19.13 The Value of Mr. Pine's Purple House - Priceless

I love Mr. Pine's Purple House! In fact, I've been driving my family crazy trying to find this book at book sales and garage sales for the last 20 years! My Mother even went so far as to write a letter to the editors looking for a copy. It's the perfect book for young kids and one I can't wait to share with all the little ones in my life. I can't believe it's back!

I loved this book as a child. I would always make my mom read it to me over and over again, even though it was long. As a elementary education major planning to student teach this next year, I hope to share this book with my students and future children. It teaches the importance of being different and the idea that different is okay too.

Mr. Pine teaches children that individuality is good and that all colors are good! Mr. Pine was written in 1965, he was way ahead of his time! I still have fond memories of being read this book as a child.
