OCT/NOV 02 - AudioFile

This is another well-done effort by John McDonough, who reads all the Mr. Putter books. Like his main character, McDonough sounds warm and kind, buying fish to keep as pets. Unfortunately, his tabby cat takes too keen an interest in them, and he gives them away to his neighbor. McDonough’s voice is low and gravelly, hypnotic in its relaxing effect. He reads slowly and pleasantly, gently weaving this tale of neighborly friendliness. Listeners will find no fault with this charming presentation. A.G.H. © AudioFile 2002, Portland, Maine
