I love this entire series, so does my 4-yr-old son. Gentle humor and wonderful, engaging characters. Perfect length for bed-time reading. Appropriate for small children - no violence or bad language.

We have all the Mr. Putter books, they're our favorite series, but I think the otherwise prolific Cynthia Rylant is running out of ideas for these characters. The premise here is the most improbable of all the books yet. My kids (age 5 and 11) really liked it; my wife thinks this may have been the series' "jumping the shark" moment. Still, if you've read all the others, don't stop now.
