Description: This is an all encompassing book on MRI of the musculoskeletal system. This updates the previous edition of 2001.
Purpose: The fifth edition is an attempt to cover the significant updates that have occurred and are occurring in the field of musculoskeletal imaging as it pertains to MRI. These worthy objectives are met exceedingly well.
Audience: This is intended for a wide audience, physicians, residents, students, and other healthcare professionals involved with musculoskeletal imaging. The author is a credible source and authority on the subject.
Features: Not only are individual joints discussed, but a complete overview is presented here, from the basic principles of magnetic resonance imaging to interpretation and technical considerations for musculoskeletal MRI to clinical spectroscopy. This book offers an encyclopedic look at a weighty topic and is replete with tables, illustrations, graphs, and images.
Assessment: Almost encyclopedic, this book is inclusive enough to be the "go-to" book for nearly any question that an imager or a clinician may have on the topic of musculoskeletal MRI. A welcome update from the 2001 version, this book will be well received by its intended audience.
