Mrs. Avery and Jeffrey is based on a true story involving the author's mother and a baby squirrel she rescued. Mrs. Avery was at a time in her life when her children were almost grown and out of her nest, so she felt that she wasn't needed as much anymore--that is until Jeffrey showed up! Jeffrey was a delight in her life until Jeffrey became too much to handle! Jeffrey, at heart, was a wild animal and longed to live like other squirrels do. But can Mrs. Avery let Jeffrey go?

About the Author

Jann Moses Falkenstern was born and raised in the Deep South with Christian values and beliefs. She is a 1993 graduate of the University of Alabama with a bachelor’s degree in journalism. Most of her career has been focused on writing for newspapers, and then she became a high school English teacher. She taught at one of Florida’s juvenile justice facilities, where she saw the need for books that not only were entertaining but brought a message as well. She resides in South Florida with her husband, Pete, and their pets, Buddy, Rufus, Rex, Penelope, and Howie.
