Meet the Author

Henry Wadsworth Longfellow was my first introduction to poetry. I have been writing poetry ever since. I am a poet who, in the past four years, has begun to write short stories that include fictional tales about cats and dogs. Mrs. Bentley's Cat is my latest completed work.I am a native Washingtonian, living in Killeen, Texas. Although I did not complete college, I attended Montgomery college in Takoma, Maryland and the USDA Graduate School in Washington, D.C. I am the mother of three and grandmother of four.Former President William Clinton sent me a thank you letter and A Day of Mourning Proclamation for my poem, A Few Days On This Earth. This poem is given to parents of stillborn children throughout the country by bereavement organizations.Diamond BeAnce Bobbett and I met when she was nine years of age and we have become collaborators on two books. Our first work was The Back Yard Encounter: Jacks, Mrs. Rogers and the Skunk and Mrs. Bentley's Cat is our current illustrated book.
