Editorial Reviews

Children's Literature - Mary Sue Preissner
The text informs us the Mrs. Noah, having become bored with 40 days and nights of rain while sailing on the ark, passed the time by sewing a quilt of their journey. The left page gives instructions of the construction of the quilt, in both text and photographs. The entire quilt is outlined on the bottom of each left page, a new patch being added as the page is turned. The right page gives a first person perspective about the animals and the flood along with the quilt patch of that particular animal. The final page of the book is a foldout containing a brief history of quilting and an enlarged photograph of the Mrs. Noah quilt. The back inside cover holds a pocket containing instructions on how to make your own quilt, stitching and fabric with the designs as found in this book. Bolton is known internationally for her work with textiles, having been published in magazines and books, and has shown her works in galleries and international craft shows.
