A story for all who have or have not seen terrorism

This is an excellent story. It seemed so real to me having lived in Northern Ireland where terrorism is still there. And aye people who still don't believe it the HOLOCAUST did happen. The Holocaust needs to be taught in all schools.

I've read better

I was incredibly frustrated with the stupid choices Kate made. She leaves behind her 12 year old abandoned niece that she says is like daughter for her narcissistic demented sister? What drivel. Not worth the price. Much better reading material out there

Highly Recommend

Can you imagine living in an occupied territory in the middle of a war? Can you imagine being in charge of your twin sister who has had a breakdown during this time, and then your other sister abandons her child for you to take care of. This child who you love as your own has Jewish blood in her veins so she is being looked for.....can you imagine dealing wtih all of this?

This is the story of a lady who did....it's a great read. It was so good that the 400+ pages seemed like only 100...I couldn't put it down.

War and No Peace

Ms. Anderson has given us a unique and fresh viewpoint on the holocaust of World War Two in her historical novel MRS. TUESDAY'S DEPARTURE. The perspective is that of an atypical family unit, an all-female household, in a European city occupied by the Nazis. Kate and Lilly are identical twin aunts to their young niece, Mila, who was the recipient of a selfish deed by her mother, sister to the aunts. Ms. Anderson adroitly re-creates the fear that lurked everywhere among the occupied citizenry; fear that made them grow suspicious of one another, fear of starving due to the food shortages, and the horrible terror in waiting to see if they would be the next taken away to the Nazi death camps. The widowed Kate has the added problem of acting as the family's head, as her dear sister Lilly suffers from an affliction causing her to act out at inappropriate times without regard to danger. The character interactions create tension, suspense, sympathy, and empathy that will keep the reader interested all the way through to the unexpected ending. Ms. Anderson's masterful use of description places the reader among the chaotic feelings of the time. The characters are real enough to jump out at you, and their powerful dialogue is not less than enthralling. Mrs. Tuesday's Departure is an amazing story and very well writt

Mrs. Tuesday's Departure is an amazing story and very well written. It is a fast paced read with lots of ups and downs. It shows how three sisters handle the Germans torturing the Jews. I was really getting into the book and it ended. I would have loved to read more. I was hoping the ending would have been a little different. The book makes you stop and think about what is really important in life. Thanks Suzanne Anderson for such a great book!

With the Nazis arriving in Budapest, Ilona and her husband Mila, a Jew, take the last two tickets for the train out of Budapest for themselves, leaving their daughter Mila, and Ilona’s sisters, Natalie and Anna who are identical twins, to fend for themselves. Natalie is a renowned children’s book author and Anna a former professor at the college and poet, who is slowly losing her mind with paranoid delusions that put them in danger.

Suzanne’s novel, Mrs. Tuesday’s Departure, is written in the first person point of view, which gives us Natalie’s personal perspective of the stress, planning, and dangers the two women and Mila are enduring. It draws you straight into the emotional drama of how she can know who to trust, what she should do to protect Mila, her worries of being watched and followed, and how she should handle Anna in her delusional states. My feelings were so pumped throughout, knowing the dangers and fears.

The grief from the loss of Max, Natalie’s husband, was sensitively handled and very well portrayed. Betrayal by a young man, her intruding questions about Deszo, and the jealousies between Natalie and Anna kept the story moving through the whole book like a marching army of sorts. The additional story of Mrs. Tuesday was an interesting interlude to set aside the atrocities taking place, a time of escape for a short period of time.

The love Natalie has for Mila fills a part of her loneliness, but also becomes an issue of choice for her. If she had to choose between saving Mila or Anna, who would she choose? The strength of faith, family, and love bring a resolution through this horrifying time of history.

This is a great book built around a terrified family trying to survive Hitler’s men, and I thought it was well laid out and emotionally touching. However, the use of expletives took me by surprise and I feel they were unnecessary in a Christian book.

The story was great, but don't read it unless you're able to overlook the numerous typos, from switching from third person to first person for part of a sentence (5 times), to changing how she wanted to write a sentence and ending up with a confusing sentence that you have to decipher. The book didn't appear to have been edited before publication.

Needs much work

This book seems to be "in process". The time and place were vague, although one eventally dtermined it is the tail end of WWII. The characters had potential, but they were never fully developed. Readers are left with a multitude of questions at the end. Definitely not ready for publication. Extremely disappointed.

Depressing story line. Difficult to follow. Abrupt and unrealistic ending. I can't believe i wasted hours on this.

Don't bother!

This story is confusing and really bad. I lasted a couple of chapters and gave up. The flash backs were difficult to follow. The characters were not interesting. I'm glad this was free or I would have felt cheated.
