High school math Louise Stevens, still recovering from the sudden death of her lover of over 30 years retires and moves to Florida to be near friends. There she meets Martha ¿Marty¿ Beck, golf pro extraordinaire at the local country club. Things do not get off to a smooth start between the women. While Marty finds Louise interesting, Louise finds Marty brash and irritating. Wanting to get back into a hobby she once loved, Louise decides to take golf lessons from Marty. As time and the lesson¿s progress, a tentative friendship begins to form between them. Suddenly, Louise finds that her feelings for Marty are beginning to change. And she doesn¿t know what to do. Would she be betraying what was the love of her life if she allows herself to act on these new feelings? Does she even want to? And Marty, still smarting from Louise¿s initial rejection, isn¿t sure she wants to pursue anything with the other woman. Despite all odds against it, a budding romance bubbles to the surface. And both women find that the trials and tribulations of romance aren¿t restricted to the young. The author of such dynamic books as Shaken, Malicious Pursuit, and The House on Sandstone once again presents the reader with a thoroughly entertaining story. Mulligan is a wonderful tale of women in their ¿golden¿ years experiencing a second chance at love. You may laugh, you may cry and you might hold your breath but you will be thoroughly enamored by the characters and their story. And as the author herself has said, ¿Life can indeed begin at 60!¿Was this review helpful? Yes NoThank you for your feedback. Report this reviewThank you, this review has been flagged.
