    Great first mystery

Things aren¿t going so well for lobbyist James Peters. First his wife leaves. Now his partner Woodrow Wilson Cox goes missing while they¿re at Ben State University for a weekend. They went there for a client cocktail party, football game and golf for the weekend. Now James is the police¿s prime suspect. An attractive TV reporter covering his partner¿s disappearance begins to pursue James through all of this. James¿ business isn¿t going very well and he has unhappy mobsters to deal with, as well as a corrupt state senator. Can things get any worse? Yes, but you¿ll have to read the book to find out what happens and how he deals with it. This is a great book. I enjoyed it. It has lots of twists and turns and plenty of humor as well. The author has done a great job constructing an enjoyable mystery and the characters are wonderful too. You really feel what James is going through. I hope there will be more books in this series. I recommend it.

    Funny and Suspenseful

Murder at Cleaver Stadium combined all of the elements in a book that I love: Humor, suspense, twists & turns plus the inability to put down the book once I started reading it.

    SUPERB

This book was recommended to me by an unexpected source--the author. He did me a tremendous favor. I LOVED THIS BOOK. I'm going to recommend it to all of my friends. I found the book riveting and was reluctant to go to a dinner party because I wanted to continue reading. The ending took me totally by surprise. I'm going to reread it (slower this time) to see what clues I missed. I can't wait for the sequel.

    Murder at Cleaver is Clever

What Gibboney has done was to keep me awake until I read the entire novel non stop. I chuckled and found myself at the edge of my seat throughout the book. All that can be said about the ending is Read The Book. I can't wait for the sequel.

    Well Done!

As an avid mystery reader, it's hard to keep me guessing about who done it, but Gibboney managed to do that quite well. I look forward to the sequel.

Suspense and humor combined make a winner here!

To describe MURDER AT CLEAVER STADIUM as just a murder mystery does not do it justice, as this novel is often funny in places where one would least expect it. It's obvious that Douglas Lee Gibboney had fun writing this. It's a book that's not only entertaining and witty, but one with many subtle twists and surprises. Written in the first person, the protagonist, James Peters, makes a confession and on the first page. It's not what you would think - it's that he has never been a football fan. After some hilarious descriptions on the same page about football and a Ben State coach, this book really takes off. The characters are lively, real and often humorous. It will not only keep you guessing, but also just when you think you may have figured everything out, a new twist will throw you off track, and often laughing at the same time. Don't pick up and open this book as a casual read - after the first chapter it's difficult to put it down. Each page brings a new twist or a description of a person or event that will leave you lauging. It would be an understatement to say that there are some surprises here. Don't try to read this book in bed if you have a significant other. Your other half won't appreciate your repeated laughter waking them up, and you won't want to put it down. This book will not disappoint you. MURDER AT CLEAVER STADIUM is truly a winner. Gibboney has announced that he's writing a sequel, and I'm looking forward to reading it as well.

    Murder at Cleaver Stadium Scores

Lobbyist James Peters loses his business partner to murder and the list of suspects isn't very long. Unfortunately for Peters, he's at the top of that list. This well-written mystery keeps you guessing till the end. It truly is, as the back cover states, 'A funny, fast-paced combination of satire and murder mystery.' I thoroughly enjoyed it and I can't wait for the sequel!
