485 pages long. This murder mystery is written like a British true crime novel. I found the format to be very interesting because of this. I have read a lot of Bristish and American novels, mysteries and true crimes, and this is the closest description I could come up with. There very few editing mistakes. A twisty, curvy, roller coaster of a read leads to the killer. The ending had a bit of surprize, which I liked. I did not like all the philosophical talk and quotes. I would have enjoyed more description of the surroundings etc. The langauge was very concise and to the point. No sex, no bloody descriptions, no cursing, just a straight forward story. I enjoyed this novel. I think it was geared more to men, then women, but women who like British mystories or true crime novels shold like this also. I recommend it for adult readers as I think the length, lack of details, dryness of style and setting would not entertain younger readers. AD

Interesting, well-written...I agree a little excessive on the meals and wine descriptions.

I enjoyed this book. It had a good story flow and the characters were well developed. Had a hard time putting this one down to take a break.

However I found the every detail stop for meals and to order and to drink wine and read or coffee and brandy and coffee and roll or coffee and pie or coffee as fillers was what made it long. Could have used description of other people and things. Obvious they both drink too much if they have to drink a bottle before ordering. Thanks for no grafic violence and sex so can read while eating and my non alcoholic and non spiked coffee . pagecounter

The story line is interesting but the execution is ok. There were too many little tangents that did nothing to add to the story.

I am surprised at some of the other reviews. Who cares if it is 485 pages long if it is interesting, well written and moves with ease from page to page. This book is wrll worth the time it takes to read and I would reccomend it to anyone who enjoys a GOOD murder mystery.
