Murder at the HOA

The Grecian Gardens condominium community had been suffering along with the rest of Arizona, from the failing economy and several units had been sold at ridiculously low prices to investors, and the new owners rented units out which did nothing to help the value of the property at all. The main attraction in the Grecian Gardens was the beautiful pool and spa, in the style and appearance somewhat reminiscent of the pool at the Hearst Castle in California. The large clubhouse and gymnasium stood in two separate units; they too were fashioned in the Grecian style surrounded by beautifully kept lush and colorful flower gardens and tall palm trees. There were several unique amenities for the residents include a bright and cheery café and beauty and spa area. The Grecian Gardens was a very desirable spot in which to live; it was mainly enjoyed by adults, during the winter season the older residents had families with grandchildren visiting. None of the owners or guests ever imagined that this beautiful tranquil HOA community would become a site for murder.

About the Author

Michael Morton was born in Texas, grew up in California, and moved back to Texas in high school. While living in Austin, Michael was convicted of murdering his wife—a crime he did not commit. He spent almost twenty-five years in prison before being exonerated through the efforts of the Innocence Project, pro bono lawyer John Raley, and advances in DNA technology. Michael is now remarried and lives on a lake in rural East Texas, relishing and appreciating what others may take for granted.
