Overview

Sixty-six year old Gertie Johnson and cohorts Cora Mae and Kitty have a knack for stirring up trouble in what was once a quiet backwoods community in the heart of the Michigan Upper Peninsula. When Finnish resident Harry Aho (sometimes pronounced A-hoe) takes a bullet at his kitchen table, Gertie suspects it has something to do with the public shooting range he set up right on the property line next to a Swede. The Trouble Busters bring out the big guns to crack this one, including deer cameras, a riot gun, and faithful Fred, the semi-retired police dog.

I enjoy this author's stories. They are funny and have great characters. I have read most of this series as well as some in her doll series. This one wasn't as good as some of her others and had more typos than I remember the others having but it was still entertaining.

A funny, entertaining read. Every village must have a Miss Marple. If I still lived in a village I would be that person. Recommend this one.

Gertie Johnson is the most fun of any character in the cozy genre. She is 66, tough as nails, clever and sneaky . When she and her two friends set out to solve a local murder the laugh begin. Somehow I am always surprised that she does manage to get things done
