Overview

Murder Central is the story of a vigilante who, for some unknown reason, has chosen Houston to ply his trade. This vigilante specializes in headline-grabbing, horrific and macabre murders, acting as judge, jury, and executioner for Houston's underworld. After the sixth bizarre killing, police decorum is tossed to the wind and changes are made in the department, bringing in top-cops Ross Clayton and Leona Stillwell to head the investigation. Two thousand miles away, a rogue assassin living in Aruba is hired to kill seven delegates of the Texas Democratic Party, whose only crime was being in the wrong place at the wrong time, and hearing things they weren't supposed to hear. The assassinations of these men, all of whom live in the Houston area, and the austere punishment of Houston's worst by the vigilante, try the patience and wits of the department's finest. Welcome to Murder Central.

    A murderer unleashed in Houston

What an intriguing murder mystery! What I love about this book is there are two stories for the price of one! You get a killer who is out for justice, challenging the very legal system designed to punish criminals--this killer almost makes you happy he is out there taking out the bad guys--something secretly you want someone to do. Then you have another killer you love to hate--killing for vengence. Sargent is very descriptive so you really feel like you are in the story. You just have to read it! Once you start you won't want to stop. There is real depth to the characters and plot lines--it left me wanting more! When is the next one coming out? Give the new author a try--you won't be sorry!
