Editorial Reviews

Vine Voice Reviewer - Robin Landry
The similarities to the Stephanie Plum series make it a fun read, though the character of P.I. Sloane Monroe is a little more pulled together than Ms. Plum. Bradshaw writes a great thriller, with likeable characters, and a taunt timeline that keeps you reading way past lights-out.
Author of The Resume - Glen Cantrell
Only once in a while you come upon a novel that sweeps you literally off your feet. The pot-boiling tension in this story is out of this world. I was taken to that place few readers go. This book will do the same for you. It will put you in seventh heaven and have you begging for more. More. Cheryl Bradshaw can write like the pros did at the Turn of the 20th Century. This is an instant classic. Absolutely sensational indisputably. --Glen Cantrell, Author of The Resume

Meet the Author

Born and raised in Southern California, Cheryl Bradshaw became interested in writing at a young age, but it was almost two decades before she put pen to paper. In 2009 Bradshaw wrote Black Diamond Death (Book One: Sloane Monroe series). Within six weeks it entered the top 100 in two different categories and remained in the top 100 for over a year. Since that time, Bradshaw has written five additional novels in the series as well as starting a new paranormal series, the first titled Grayson Manor Haunting.

Bradshaw is the founder of IWU on Facebook. In August 2012, Bradshaw was named one of Twitter's seven best authors to follow, and this year in 2013, she won best thriller from eFestival of Words for I Have a Secret (Sloane Monroe series #3) and was a Shamus Award finalist for Stranger in Town (Sloane Monroe series #4).

    EXCELLENT !!!!!

This is by far the best mystery I have read in a long while. I read it in one day and am disappoonted that BN doesnt offer any more of her books. There is romance but no disgusting sex scenes, and murder but no gory descriptions. The characters feel like friends and I'm sure I will find myself thinking about Sloane and Maddie tomorrow. I would give this ten stars if I could. Read it- you won't be disappointed.

I really enjoy the Sloane Monroe series. However, a bit of a warning - this book, for some reason has been re-named from Sinnerman to Murder Mind, so if you own or have read Sinnerman, this is the same book.

Poorly Written!! This is probably a good story but I couldn't get past the first 50 pages because the author can't seem to express conversations other than to say "he said", "she said" "i said". when i read a book that has "he said", "she said" or "i said" each and every time a character speaks, I feel like I'm reading to a first grade class. Maybe the author should read some other books and get some ideas on how to express herself or the use of a thesaurus would probably be helpful in this case.

    GOOD READ!

This was my introduction to this author, and I must say this was quite a good read. I understand now that this is actually the second book in a series, but I never felt lost or like I was missing out on something for missing the first. I liked this enough to go find the other books in this series and read them.

This book was told from two points of view and that was pretty neat. Reading from the POV of the killer was a different experience, but it was a change from the norm that I really liked.

This book isn't too graphic, but the subject matter is just a little dark. Wouldn't recommend for a child, but for teens and up, if you like a good murder mystery, this is one. I will be looking for more from this author.

The second book in the Sloane Monroe series, Murder in Mind: Sloane Monroe is out to avenge the murder of her sister by a serial killer who has started killing again after a long time between victims. You really get to know the characters and are rooting for Sloane to get it solved. She has her best friend Maddie who is the medical examiner, and a policeman boyfriend who help her. The entire Sloane Monroe series is very well written and you won't be disappointed. This one is a bit disturbing, as you get a glimpse into the mind of the serial killer, but it feels accurate. Great book, great series.

Five stars! What I loved about this novel was that you get to track the serial killer through the eyes of the PI, Sloane Monroe, and through the eyes of the killer, Sam Reids. You get to understand what motivates him to do the things he's done and why he goes after Sloane. It's a real page-turner, and I'd love to see this one made into a movie. I've read all of the books in this series now, and they are all fantastic, but this one is definitely one of my favorites.

    Good read but...

Good book that gets you into the mind of a serial killer through the female PI's investigation. I would have loved more intrigue though, the type that keeps you on edge and makes the book a page-turner. I also expected some romance to heighten the characters' emotions, but it was almost non-existent. So good read but not a book I will read again. I don't think I will buy more books from this author either.

    A Strange Tale

Okay, here we have the story of Madison, whose twin sister was killed 10 year ago by the Sinnerman, a name which comes from a song by Nina Simone, whose mother was a minister, and very much against evil. The Sinnerman gets to tell some of his story, along with Madison, so we learn that he keeps one finger as a trophy. Madison is now a P.I. and the Sinnerman has taken up killing women again, with the idea of being the first serial killer to murder twins. Maddie sheds her overbearing live in cop lover, and out of the clear blue, along comes Giovanni and his possibly mob connected family to protect her, and help in the search for the Sinnerman. The first part seemed plausible, but not the Giovanni part. Will the Sinnerman get her? PS--the cover is creepy!
