Publishers Weekly - Publisher's Weekly
Debut mystery featuring a detective who uses her psychic abilities to solve a murder. Nov.
Library Journal
Highly educated California parapsychologist Elizabeth Chase uses her psychic gift to solve crimes. When a skeptical Sgt. Thomas McGowen of the local police asks for help while investigating a death he believes is murder, Chase readily complies. Elizabeth's association with McGowen not only sparks a little romance but also results in contact with the victim's drug-addicted ex-boyfriend, an ambitious, secretive boss, and her unlamenting stepmother. The psychic's search for truth culminates in a scene of terrorizing suspense. Fine prose, a matter-of-fact approach to some rather extraordinary perceptions, and a wry sense of humor characterize a remarkable first novel.

    I Couldn't Put It Down

Martha Lawrence's first book introduces the reader to Elizabeth Chase, a psychic private investigator. While I must admit, I was a bit skeptical at first, my doubts were completely washed away after reading the first few chapters. This is a gripping, suspenseful work, with many twists and turns and with a meaningful and honest approach to psychics. This was one of those rare books where I couldn't wait to find out what happened next and at the same time didn't want to finish it. I didn't want this wonderful adventure to end!!
