Overview

Come inside these pages to meet some local gringos and a few of the citizens of San Miguel. Leading the pack are Penny and Jack Battle. They are friends of all the mystery-solving couples since The Thin Man's Nick and Nora Charles.

Writers abound in this hillside town, but only one gives the names of real people to characters in her sexy novels. She pays a hideous price for it, and Jack and Penny regret solving the crime.

An elegant upper crust floats on the surface of San Miguel until some scruffy young people playing at drugs, murder, and revolution challenge them. Jack's houseguest might be involved and he is trapped in a tunnel.

When fifty or so ex-pats fall for a land development fraud, Penny sets out to nab the villain and rescue her friends. Then she falls for the looks of her gardener, and turns him into a politician. The police warn her against meddling in local affairs, which is what Jack had told her all along.

A fugitive from the world of P.G.Wodehouse, Jack's Scottish cousin ambles into town and falls in love. Penny and Jack try to save the lovers from an attack of modern scruples, and redefine marriage.

Finally, the most obnoxious man in town is killed. Jack frustrates justice to save a man's future.

Smiles turn into laughter in this book, and the mysteries will delight the intelligent reader. Don't miss MM&M in San Miguel!
