    Good Education

This book gave a lot of information about jurors, how they are picked, the questioning and what they thought. It told me things I never knew. The plot was excellent like all her books.

One of the Better in the Series!

Reading the series in order, A Deadly Judgement, the sixth book in the series, starting with Gin & Daggers, is the best so far. A little change of pace, putting Jessica in the role of a jury consultant, for a murder case, but it works. The circumstances are a bit contrived, but once the case is under way, Donald Bain seems to have finally found out how to make the book work like a typical television episode of the show. The characters are pretty standard, with the exception of the lawyer, Malcolm McLoon. He's quite a character and I'm sorry that he isn't found in any other of the books in the series. I've been giving this series 3 stars, since they are easy to read, and tightly written. This book gets 4 stars because finally, the author has given us a decent mystery with actual clues the reader can follow. The mystery has two parts, the first part, the reader follows Jessica along and there's not much mystery, but I did enjoy the second part, which actually had a bit of a twist with a major clue that if you pay attention, you may spot. So, for the first time, I finished a Murder, She Wrote book and was pleasantly surprised. Otherwise, I nice change of pace, easy to read and one of the best books in the series so far.
